Vietnamese leaders congratulate Cambodia on 70th Independence Day

Vietnam will do its utmost together with Cambodia to protect, preserve and foster the Vietnam-Cambodia relationship of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability” to develop to new heights, becoming increasingly substantive and effective.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Kingdom of Cambodia (November 9, 1953 - November 9, 2023), on November 9, 2023, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam sent a congratulatory message to the Central Committee of the Cambodian People's Party.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong sent a flower basket to congratulate King Norodom Sihamoni and President of the Cambodian People's Party Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

President Vo Van Thuong sent a congratulatory letter to King Norodom Sihamoni.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory letter to Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent congratulatory letters to Senate Chairman Samdech Say Chhum and National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary.

In congratulatory messages and letters, the Party Central Committee and key leaders of Vietnam warmly congratulated the glorious victories and great, important achievements in the struggle for national liberation, saving the Cambodian people from the disaster of genocide as well as in the cause of building, protecting and developing Cambodia over the past 70 years.

The Party Central Committee and key leaders of Vietnam highly appreciated Cambodia's successful organization of the 7th National Assembly election and the early establishment of a new National Assembly and Government; and believed that under the wise reign of King Norodom Sihamoni, the wise leadership of the Senate, the National Assembly and the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia headed by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia will continue to gain even greater new achievements in the cause of building a peaceful, stable, developed and prosperous Cambodia.

On the basis of the good cooperation and traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, Vietnam will do its utmost together with Cambodia to protect, preserve and foster the relationship of “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, long-term sustainability” between Vietnam and Cambodia to develop to a new height, increasingly substantive and effective, contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On this occasion, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission Le Hoai Trung sent a congratulatory letter to Mr. Prak Sokhonn - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the Cambodian People's Party Central Committee.

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son sent a congratulatory letter to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophia.
