Ho Chi Minh City leaders meet international investors to discuss green growth

The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and these delegates will discuss the current carbon market, its opportunities, challenges, and operations. In addition, they will discuss how to create and exchange carbon credits, and introduce the carbon credit system that the WB is implementing worldwide. In particular, the pilot establishment and connection of the carbon credit market in Ho Chi Minh City to the system that the WB is implementing.

The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City will also receive a delegation from the World Bank and the Ho Chi Minh City-World Bank Joint Working Group (HWG), led by Ms. Carolyn Turk, Director of the World Bank in Vietnam, and a member of the WB's low carbon group leader, representing Ho Chi Minh City in the HWG. The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and this delegation will summarize the results achieved in the past year and ways to implement joint work in the coming time. At the same time, they will discuss the plan to visit Ho Chi Minh City by the President of the World Bank in March.

Also in the morning, Ho Chi Minh City leaders will receive investors from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), learn about investment opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City, and share ways to attract green financial resources.

The conference calling for investment for green growth development in Ho Chi Minh City was held within the framework of the green and sustainable growth development activities in Ho Chi Minh City of the Ho Chi Minh City - World Bank Joint Working Group (HWG). The conference attracted hundreds of domestic and foreign delegates, international financial institutions, international organizations, representatives of diplomatic agencies, consulates, domestic and foreign enterprises, domestic experts and experts from other countries.

Here, Ho Chi Minh City leaders will exchange and discuss with foreign sponsors, potential investors, experts, organizations, and domestic and foreign enterprises about projects within the framework of the Ho Chi Minh City - World Bank Joint Working Group and some key projects to attract green investment in Ho Chi Minh City.
