Spreading the message of protecting migratory birds through drama competition

The contest with unique performances and creative perspectives on migratory birds from the students spread the message of joining hands to protect migratory birds to the local community.

Attending the event were representatives from relevant departments such as: Ms. Pham Thi Tuat - Head of Primary Education Department - Department of Education and Training; Mr. An Don Nghia - Vice Chairman of Yen Mo District People's Committee; Mr. Dinh Van Ngoc - Representative of Tam Diep Forest Protection Department; Mr. Tran Xuan Tong - Yen Dong Commune Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thanh Nga - Project Manager at the Vietnam Wildlife Action Center along with teachers and students in the area.

Responding to the series of activities within the Migratory Bird Conservation Project, WildAct has coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province to launch the Drama Competition "Protecting Migratory Birds" to 18 primary schools in the district. In particular, talented teams with new perspectives brought to the final gala of the drama competition unique and creative performances along with meaningful messages on the topic of migratory birds. At the Final Gala of the Competition, 7 excellent scripts were selected and successfully performed in an exciting atmosphere from the large number of students and teachers attending.

Ms. Pham Thi Tuat - Head of Primary Education Department - Department of Education and Training shared: "The drama contest "Protecting migratory birds" is a meaningful event for students and local communities in Yen Mo district. Each performance of students and teachers from primary schools in the district expressed emotional stories and perspectives on the issue of migratory birds. I believe that through the contest, students, teachers as well as parents and the community will have a better awareness of the importance of migratory birds. Thereby, changing awareness and taking more appropriate actions against illegal hunting and trading of migratory birds"

First Prize went to the work "Homeland Birds" by Yen Dong Primary School;

Second Prize went to the work "The Confessions of the Stork and the Heron" by Yen Phu Primary School;

The popular vote award went to the work "Where the birds return" by Yen Phong Primary School;
