Coming to the countryside of Binh Thanh (Hanh Nhan commune, Nghia Hanh district), what is easy to see is the image of small alleys, clean village roads or fruit gardens full of fruit, fresh climate and friendly people. The beautiful picture of the homeland has thus "deeply penetrated" the way of doing tourism of the local people here.
Every weekend, the fruit garden of Mr. Nguyen Dien Tho's family in Binh Thanh village welcomes a group of visitors from Quang Ngai city to visit and experience special fruits such as rambutan, royal banana, Thai jackfruit, green-skinned grapefruit, corn or various types of banh it, banh chung, xu xue... In particular, visitors can relax and enjoy the bai choi performances performed by members of the bai choi club of Nghia Hanh district.

“At first, there weren’t many visitors and many things were unfamiliar. Now, my family’s tourism services are becoming more and more professional. Tourists love coming here. I especially value preserving cultural identity and the environment to attract tourists,” Mr. Tho confided.
Located about 4km from the center of Nghia Hanh district, Binh Thanh village is a traditional countryside with beautiful garden landscapes, each fruit garden is about 2,000m2 on average. The fruits that have been recognized and protected by Nghia Hanh collective trademarks include rambutan, green-skinned grapefruit, durian and royal banana. In addition, Binh Thanh village has preserved the traditional profession of growing mulberry and raising silkworms that has existed for more than 100 years. This is also an interesting experience service for tourists who are students visiting and studying.
Mr. Doan Phu Viet Nam, Director of Binh Thanh Agricultural - Service and Community Tourism Cooperative, said that since the beginning of April 2022, Binh Thanh has continuously welcomed groups of visitors through the connection of travel agencies and agencies, schools in and outside the district.
Recently, the “Countryside Cuisine Night” held in the countryside of Binh Thanh has attracted thousands of visitors to visit and experience. This model of agricultural development associated with tourism not only gives visitors the opportunity to relax, get close to nature and experience farming life, but also increases income for members and farmers, contributing to changing the economic structure from pure agricultural production to combined services.
Similarly in Binh Son district, community ecotourism has also developed strongly in recent times.
Community tourism products at destinations such as Ganh Yen, Binh Hai commune; Bau Ca Cai white coc forest, Binh Thuan commune; Dua nuoc forest, Binh Phuoc commune; My Thien pottery, Chau O town... are currently attracting visitors from inside and outside the province to visit, study and experience.
According to Mr. Vo Van Dong, Chairman of Binh Son District People's Committee, the locality's aim in developing community tourism is to create products that bring economic value to the people, not just stop at being a check-in and sightseeing spot. People directly participate in tourism activities, make agricultural specialties, and local handicrafts as a basis to attract tourists to experience, consume and benefit the people.
…to build tourism products based on unique advantages
The youth tourism group in the mountainous district of Ba To of the Vietnam Youth Union of the district has started a business based on the existing strengths of the locality, awakening the potential for developing highland tourism.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bao Vi, Head of the Ba To Youth Tourism Group, shared that when coming to the village, visitors can experience brocade weaving, knitting and immerse themselves in the atmosphere imbued with ethnic culture, admire the Hre girls dancing to the bustling gong and cymbal rhythms, and get drunk on Can wine... The village still preserves intact beautiful customs and practices, participates in activities such as farming, raising livestock, eating at households or immerses themselves in cultural and religious activities, traditional folk festivals of the Hre people, and at the same time learns about the history of Ba To district.

“We have built and established a team of local tourism collaborators and tour guides. The community tourism model called “Youth Tourism” with many programs has promoted the effectiveness of the project, aiming to promote the image and culture of the Hre people to the people and tourists from near and far, promoting local tourism development,” Ms. Vi informed.
Each rural area in Quang Ngai is a destination with many important and attractive resources to build a tourism brand. The unique type of tourism in the main tourist areas and spots is homestay accommodation service or also known as community tourism. Notably, there is community tourism in Go Co village, Pho Thanh ward, Duc Pho town. Go Co village community tourism cooperative is operating with 34 members.
Go Co has an area of about 105 hectares with nearly 80 families living at the foot of the mountain or on the hillside. After more than 2 years of establishment, Go Co Village Community Tourism Cooperative was awarded a 3-star OCOP standard certificate, built 15 homestays qualified to welcome guests, 5 bamboo boats to serve tourists on the sea near the shore, 5 trained tour guides, 8 households providing food services. Visitors here can also experience net weaving, cooking, being a farmer and participating in folk games.

Director of Go Co Village Community Tourism Cooperative, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diem Kieu, said that Go Co is a destination located in Ly Son - Sa Huynh Geopark. Although the people here participate in developing community tourism, they are very conscious of protecting the ancient village. They preserve the traditional houses, customs and protect the stone roads and ancient wells of the village. The homestays are also designed and named in a rustic way, closely related to the heritage of the village such as: Gieng Co homestay, Bai Choi homestay, Nha Tranh homestay...
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai, in order to build Quang Ngai into an attractive destination for the South Central Coast and the whole country, one of the important tasks is to focus on developing quality tourism products with unique characteristics of the destination to create competitiveness. Community tourism and agricultural tourism are types of tourism that are being encouraged to develop in order to diversify products and promote the tourism resources of the province, while also meeting the current choice of tourists and in line with the orientation of the Government and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
