Through presentations and opinions, researchers discussed to find directions to preserve and promote the values of cultural heritage of the sea associated with economic development and sea tourism in Ha Tinh.
On the morning of January 23, Nguyen Du College organized a workshop on "Solutions to preserve and promote the cultural heritage values of Ha Tinh coastal areas, contributing to the development of economy, culture, and sea and island tourism". Attending the program were Dr. Vo Hong Hai - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Board; Professor, Dr. Nguyen Huy My - Director of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; Professor, Dr. Ho Trong Ngu - Director of the Institute for Cultural Research and Preservation; a number of researchers and delegates from Hanoi University of Culture, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces. |

Belonging to the North Central Coast region, Ha Tinh has a coastline of 137 km and a territorial sea area of about 20,000 km2 . Since ancient times, Ha Tinh residents have been attached to the sea, forming many ancient fishing villages and leaving behind a system of tangible and intangible cultural heritages that are extremely rich and diverse, imbued with the identity of the coastal region.
Coastal cultural heritages account for a large number in the cultural heritage system of Ha Tinh, many of which have been ranked at the national level. These are unique tourism resources. If researched, preserved, promoted, and exploited in a synchronous and in-depth manner, they will create attractive tourism products, contributing greatly to the development of the economy, culture, and society.
Dr. Dang Thi Thuy Hang - Principal of Nguyen Du College gave a keynote speech at the conference.
The scientific workshop: “Solutions to preserve and promote the values of cultural heritages in the coastal areas of Ha Tinh, contributing to the development of economy, culture, and island tourism” aims to comprehensively study the values of the cultural heritage system in the coastal areas of Ha Tinh. Through that, the potentials and strengths are discovered and the vitality of the values of cultural heritages is revived, promoting the socio-economic development of the Hong mountain and La river countryside.
Professor, Doctor Ho Trong Ngu - Director of the Institute for Cultural Research and Preservation presented a paper: "Impacts of Thach Khe iron mine exploitation on the cultural heritage system of Ha Tinh coastal area".
The workshop received 30 presentations from researchers and experts inside and outside the province. At the program, delegates focused on the main contents such as: Researching the potential - values of the cultural heritage system of Ha Tinh coastal area, including tangible cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage; clarifying the role and position of the cultural heritage system of Ha Tinh coastal area in the current socio-economic development; analyzing the potential and issues of exploiting the potential of cultural heritage of Ha Tinh coastal area to ensure sustainability, associated with sustainable tourism development, green tourism and marine ecosystem; the current status of conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values of Ha Tinh coastal area and the inseparable relationship between conservation of cultural heritage of Ha Tinh coastal area and development of sea and island tourism economy; Some solutions, proposals, recommendations to preserve and promote the cultural heritage values of Ha Tinh coastal areas in economic, cultural, and island tourism development...
Dr. Luu Ngoc Thanh - lecturer at Hanoi University of Culture presented a paper "Solutions to preserve and promote cultural heritages of Ha Tinh coastal areas, contributing to the development of economy, culture and tourism of Ha Tinh's sea and islands".
Speaking at the workshop, Dr. Vo Hong Hai - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee acknowledged the efforts of the project's Management Board and affirmed that the dedicated contributions of researchers inside and outside the province have helped clarify some cultural heritage values of Ha Tinh's coastal areas. At the same time, he requested that researchers continue to identify more clearly the characteristics of the cultural values of Ha Tinh's coastal areas in comparison with other coastal areas. From there, the study will find solutions to exploit these values for Ha Tinh's tourism development in the coming time.

Closing the workshop, Dr. Dang Thi Thuy Hang - Principal of Nguyen Du College expressed her thanks to the researchers and delegates who sent papers to the workshop, as well as directly presented papers and contributed ideas at the program. These are valuable contributions, contributing to the success of the workshop and are the basis for the Project Management Board to continue completing the research work and promoting it in practice.
