After LPBank and Sacombank adjusted on February 1, the race to reduce deposit interest rates continues.

National Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) has just reduced interest rates by 0.2-0.3 percentage points for terms from 6-36 months, starting today (February 2).

On the online channel, the interest rate for 6-8 month terms decreased by 0.2 percentage points to 4.85%/year, and for 9-11 month terms decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 4.95%/year.

Terms from 12-36 months decreased by 0.2 percentage points, 12-13-15 months were 5.3-5.4-5.6%/year respectively.

NCB no longer maintains the 6% mark after reducing interest rates for terms from 18-36 months to 5.8%/year.

NCB keeps deposit interest rates unchanged for terms from 1-5 months. Terms of 1 and 2 months are 3.9% and 4%/year respectively, and 3-5 months is 4.1%/year.

At the end of January, a series of large commercial banks reduced their deposit interest rates, including three state-owned commercial banks: Agribank, VietinBank and BIDV. The Big4 banking group is maintaining the lowest deposit interest rates on the market today.

Of which, Vietcombank pays the lowest interest rate for all deposit terms, only 1.7%/year for 1-2 month term deposits; 2%/year for 2-5 month term deposits. Vietcombank currently lists the interest rate for 6-11 month term deposits at 3%/year, and for 12-24 month term deposits at 4.7%/year.

Compared to Vietcombank, the interest rates at the other three banks are slightly different. At VietinBank, the savings interest rate for 1-2 months is 1.9%/year, 3-5 months is 2.2%/year, 6-9 months is 3.2%/year, 12-18 months is 4.8%/year and 24-36 months is 5%/year.

At Agribank, the interest rate for 1-2 month deposits is 1.7%/year, 3-5 months is 2%/year, 6-9 months is 3.2%/year, 13-18 months is 4.8%/year, 24 months is 5%/year.

Meanwhile, BIDV listed the interest rate for 1-2 month term deposits at 2%/year, 3-5 month term deposits at 2.3%/year, 6-11 month term deposits at 3.3%/year, 12-18 month term deposits at 4.8%/year and 24-36 month term deposits at 5%/year.
