Vikki Digital Commercial Limited Liability Bank (Vikki Bank - new name of DongA Bank) has adjusted its deposit interest rate for the first time since December 9, 2024.

The increase in deposit interest rates took place after the bank changed its name and brand identity on February 14, 2025. Previously, Vikki Bank was forced to transfer to HDBank on January 17.

According to the latest deposit interest rate schedule, with a 365-day/year framework and interest paid at the end of the term, Vikki Bank maintains the deposit interest rate at 0.5%/year for terms of 1-3 weeks.

However, the interest rate for 1-5 month term deposits has been listed at 4.4%/year. Compared to the previously listed bank interest rate table, the interest rate for 1-2 month term deposits increased by 0.3%/year, and the interest rate for 3-5 month term deposits increased by 0.1%/year.

Interest rates for 6-8 month terms are listed at 5.6%/year, a slight increase of 0.05%/year compared to before.

Interest rates for 9-11 month savings terms remain unchanged at 5.7%/year, while interest rates for 12-month savings terms increase by 0.1%/year to 5.9%/year.

Despite increasing the deposit interest rates for the above terms, Vikki Bank also reduced the interest rates for terms from 13-36 months, down to 5.9%/year. Previously, this bank listed the interest rate at 6%/year for 13-month deposits, 6.1%/year for 18-36 months.

Vikki Bank maintains the "special interest rate" for VIP customers, up to 7.5%/year for customers with 13-month term deposits of 200 billion VND or more.

Previously, DongA Commercial Joint Stock Bank (DongA Bank) issued a notice about changing its name to Vikki Digital Bank Limited (Vikki Bank). The head office of DongA Bank (now Vikki Bank) will move to 72 Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi City.

After the announcement ceremony of the decision to compulsorily transfer DongA Bank to Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank), DongA Bank will be a one-member limited liability bank with 100% charter capital owned by HDBank.

Vikki Bank is the next rare bank to adjust deposit interest rates since the Lunar New Year. In addition, today, February 19, Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank) also adjusted deposit interest rates for some terms.

According to the online interest rate table just announced by VietBank, the interest rate for 1-month term increased by 0.1%/year to 4.3%/year; 2-month term increased by 0.3%/year to 4.5%/year; 3-4 month term increased by 0.2%/year to 4.6%/year; 5-month term increased by 0.1%/year to 4.6%/year.

With the above interest rate, the savings interest rate with a term of less than 6 months at VietBank is leading the market, only after Eximbank.

VietBank also sharply increased deposit interest rates for 7-9 month terms by 0.4%/year to 5.4%/year.

Interest rates for the remaining terms remain unchanged, with the highest interest rate of 5.9%/year for deposit terms from 18-36 months.

This is the second time since the beginning of the year that VietBank has increased deposit interest rates.

With VietBank and Vikki Bank having just adjusted interest rates, from the beginning of February 2025, banks adjusting deposit interest rates include: TPBank (reducing deposit interest rates for terms of 1 - 2 - 3 and 12 months), Techcombank (increasing interest rates for terms of 6-36 months), Bac A Bank (reducing interest rates for 1-36 months) and Eximbank (increasing interest rates for 1-12 months, reducing terms of 15-36 months), Viet A Bank (increasing interest rates for terms of 12-36 months).

Vikki Bank (increased terms of 1-8 months and 12 months, reduced interest rates for terms of 13-36 months); VietBank (increased interest rates for terms of 1-5 months and 7-9 months).
