Bank interest rates today, February 21, 2025, the highest 3-month term deposit interest rate is at the "ceiling peak" of 4.75%/year.
The maximum interest rate applied to deposits with terms from 1 month to less than 6 months is 4.75%/year, according to Decision 2411/QD-NHNN of the State Bank of Vietnam.
Currently, only Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank) applies a ceiling interest rate of 4.75%/year for deposits with terms of less than 6 months.
Accordingly, Eximbank applies an online interest rate of up to 4.75%/year for 3-5 month term deposits when customers open online savings accounts during the weekend.
Meanwhile, the 3-month online deposit interest rate applied from Monday to Friday is listed by Eximbank at 4.4%/year.
Besides Eximbank, the two banks currently listing the highest interest rates for 3-month terms are Vietnam Modern Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MBV) and Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank).
MBV and VietBank are leading the way by listing interest rates of up to 4.6%/year for 3-month online deposits.
Nam A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Nam A Bank) is also in the leading group with a 3-month online deposit interest rate of 4.5%/year.
The 3-month online savings interest rate at Vikki Digital Bank (Vikki Bank) is 4.4%/year. The interest rate of 4.35%/year for 3-month deposits is currently listed at Bao Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank (BaoViet Bank), Indovina Joint Venture Bank (IVB) and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VCBNeo).
National Citizen Commercial Joint Stock Bank (NCB) and Kienlong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (KienlongBank) both listed an interest rate of 4.3%/year for this term deposit.
In addition, a few banks are listing 3-month term deposit interest rates above 4%/year, such as Orient Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) listing interest rates at 4.2%/year; Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (BVBank) listing interest rates at 4.15%/year; Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) listing interest rates at 4.1%/year; Global Petroleum Bank Limited (GPBank) listing interest rates at 4.02%/year.
The group of banks listed online deposit interest rates of 4%/year for a 3-month term, including: An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank), Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB), Viet A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Viet A Bank) and Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank).
The remaining banks all listed interest rates below 4%/year for 3-month deposits. Of which, the big4 group listed the lowest mobilization interest rates.
At Agribank, the interest rate for 3-month deposits is 3%/year. The interest rate for this term is listed by VietinBank and BIDV at 2.3%/year, while Vietcombank lists it at 1.9%/year.
Since the beginning of February 2025, banks have adjusted their deposit interest rates, including: TPBank (reduced deposit interest rates for terms of 1 - 2 - 3 and 12 months), Techcombank (increased interest rates for terms of 6-36 months), Bac A Bank (reduced interest rates for 1-36 months) and Eximbank (increased interest rates for 1-12 months, decreased interest rates for 15-36 months), Viet A Bank (increased interest rates for terms of 12-36 months), Vikki Bank (increased terms of 1-8 months and 12 months, decreased interest rates for terms of 13-36 months); VietBank (increased interest rates for terms of 1-5 months and 7-9 months), BaoViet Bank (increased interest rates for terms of 1 month).
