Kyrgios: 'Djokovic sleeps well'

Tennis player Nick Kyrgios believes that Novak Djokovic is not worried about juniors like Jannik Sinner rising up, after the failure at Davis Cup.

After Sinner defeated Djokovic in the Davis Cup semi-finals and then won the championship, some opinions on social network X said that the 22-year-old tennis player was obsessed with Nole. Kyrgios refuted this opinion, rating Djokovic higher than all opponents.

"This may be controversial but Djokovic is thinking about his bank balance and his achievements and sleeping soundly," Kyrgios wrote on X, adding that Djokovic is at his peak and the only question is how long he wants to continue his career.

Djokovic holds all the major tennis records, including prize money. He is the first player in history to surpass $180 million in career prize money, with another $16 million in 2023 alone. Nole's prize money far surpasses Rafael Nadal ($135 million) and Roger Federer ($130 million). No one else in tennis history, including the women's category, has ever reached $100 million in prize money.

Sinner is the third player in history to beat Djokovic twice in 12 days, after Nadal and Andy Murray in 2008. Nadal beat Djokovic in the semifinals of Roland Garros on June 6, 2008, and then won in the final of the Queen's Club Championships a week later. Murray beat Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open on July 25, 2008, and then won the final of the Cincinnati Masters on August 3, 2008.

Before defeating Nole in the Davis Cup semi-finals on November 25, Sinner lost to his senior in the ATP Finals group stage. In his entire career, Djokovic has only lost to four people after reaching match-point, but Sinner is the only one who saved three match-points in a row and then defeated Nole.

Djokovic expressed disappointment after Serbia lost in the Davis Cup semi-finals. He wants to bring another title to his country, after winning this tournament in 2010. The 36-year-old tennis player also aims to conquer the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, the arena where Djokovic has not won the highest glory.
