Celebrating the 110th anniversary of the birth of hero Ly Tu Trong

Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department awarded scholarships "Lighting up the dreams of Thanh Dong children" to students in difficult circumstances.

On the afternoon of October 14, Hai Duong Provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to organize a program to celebrate the 110th birthday of comrade Ly Tu Trong (October 20, 1914 - October 20, 2024) - the first member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union at Ly Tu Trong Primary School (Hai Duong City).

The Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Pioneer Council presented Ly Tu Trong Primary School's Pioneer Union with a children's bookcase.

At the program, delegates, teachers and students of Ly Tu Trong Primary School reviewed the history of the life and heroic example of the steadfast revolutionary soldier, the first member of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union - Ly Tu Trong.

On this occasion, the Ly Tu Trong Primary School Union received the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union. The Provincial Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union Council presented the union with a Ly Tu Trong children's bookcase. The organizing committee also presented 20 "Lighting up the dreams of Thanh Dong children" scholarships to encourage students in difficult circumstances, each scholarship includes a gift and 500,000 VND in cash.

As part of the emulation movement to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the birth of the first communist youth union member, the Ly Tu Trong Primary School Union organized a contest to learn about "The life and sacrifice of Ly Tu Trong". The contest attracted nearly 400 entries from both students and teachers with rich content and creative forms of expression. As a result, the 4D class union won the collective first prize, while Tran Bao Chau (4D class) and Nguyen Thuy Duong (5D class) won the individual first prize.

Ly Tu Trong's real name is Le Huu Trong, born on October 20, 1914, from Ha Tinh province. He was directly guided by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc since his teenage years. He soon became aware of the revolution, mobilized and gathered young people in factories and schools to prepare for the establishment of the Communist Youth Union in the country. Later, Ly Tu Trong became the first communist union member. In 1931, Ly Tu Trong heroically sacrificed himself at the age of 17.

The life of Ly Tu Trong is a shining example of patriotism and the indomitable will of Vietnamese youth. The truth "The path of youth is only the revolutionary path" that the young communist Ly Tu Trong once declared firmly before the enemy when he was only 17 years old is forever recorded in the history of the revolutionary struggle of the Vietnamese people, has become the ideal of life and the weapon of combat, the guiding principle of action of Vietnamese youth through all revolutionary periods.
