Nguyen Anh Minh's record broken at Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters golf tournament

At the end of the qualifying round, 54 golfers entered the final round to compete for the championship of the exciting and dramatic Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters golf tournament. Ahmad Baig showed an extremely impressive performance when he achieved a total score of -13 strokes, surpassing his Indian competitor Pukhraj Singh Gill to win the championship. Ahmad Baig's achievement broke the record of the champion with the highest total score in the history of the Vietnam Masters, set by Nguyen Anh Minh in 2023 with a score of -11 strokes.

Witchayanon Chothirunrungrueng (Thailand) and Shahriffuddin Ariffin (Malaysia) both scored -12 strokes and tied for second place. Witchayanon briefly took the lead in the rankings but ran out of steam at the decisive moment.

Ahmad Baig received a prize of $14,875 for the championship title.

Nguyen Anh Minh was the Vietnamese golfer who achieved the best result with -8 strokes, ranking 14th overall and receiving the title of best amateur golfer of the tournament. In addition to Anh Minh, there were 3 other Vietnamese golfers who qualified for the final round: Le Khanh Hung, Nguyen Nhat Long, Nguyen Tuan Kiet.

The Nam A Bank Vietnam Masters 2024 golf tournament is the first season in the history of the Vietnam Masters to be co-organized by the Vietnam Professional Golf System (VGA Tour) and the Asia Development Professional Golf System (ADT). The tournament brings together 133 athletes including prominent faces of the Vietnamese golf community and international athletes from 25 countries in the ADT system. The tournament has a prize fund of up to 85,000 USD and is awarded according to the ADT bonus policy.
