Kinhtedothi - On February 19, at the Press Center, National Assembly House, Party Central Committee member, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Tung chaired a press conference on the results of the 9th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly.
Consider many urgent issues of streamlining the organizational apparatus
Providing information on the results of the Session, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Vu Minh Tuan said that the Session took place right after the great success of the 13th Party Central Committee Conference, which was of special importance to urgently submit to the National Assembly for consideration and decision many urgent issues to serve the revolution of reorganizing and streamlining the apparatus, meeting the very high requirements of the country in the new era; continuing to remove difficulties and obstacles in institutions and policies to promote resources, create new development space, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals set by the 13th Party Congress.
After 6.5 working days, with a spirit of urgency, seriousness, democracy and high responsibility, the Session completed the entire proposed program by reviewing and approving 4 laws, 5 resolutions and conducting personnel work to implement the organization and apparatus arrangement of the National Assembly and the Government for the 15th National Assembly term; passing 6 Resolutions to promote the country's socio-economic development and specific mechanisms and policies for a number of important projects.
The National Assembly passed four laws, including: Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly; Law on Organization of the Government (amended); Law on Organization of Local Government (amended); Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended).
The National Assembly also passed a Resolution regulating the handling of a number of issues related to the reorganization of the state apparatus; a Resolution on the organization of National Assembly agencies and a Resolution on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly; a Resolution on the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term and a Resolution on the number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term.
The National Assembly elected former Chairman of the Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh and former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan as Vice Chairmen of the 15th National Assembly.
The National Assembly approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint former Deputy Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Mai Van Chinh and former Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung to hold the position of Deputy Prime Minister for the 2021-2026 term.
The National Assembly also elected 1 member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and 6 Chairmen of National Assembly Committees; approved the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint 4 Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.
Along with that, the National Assembly dismissed the position of member of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly, approved the dismissal of the position of Minister for the 2021-2026 term for a number of Ministers and members of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly to take on other tasks.
Personnel work has been carried out strictly, in accordance with Party regulations and State laws, achieving high consensus and unanimity among National Assembly delegates.
Many important resolutions were passed.
According to the Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office, based on the results achieved in 2024, the forecast situation in 2025 and the Government's proposal, the National Assembly discussed and approved the Resolution on supplementing the Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2025 with a growth target of 8% or more; Resolution on piloting a number of special mechanisms and policies to create breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution on investment policy for the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway construction investment project; Resolution on piloting a number of specific and special mechanisms and policies to develop the urban railway network in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; Resolution on special mechanisms and policies for investment in the construction of the Ninh Thuan nuclear power project.
In addition, the National Assembly unanimously approved the Resolution on the investment plan to supplement the charter capital for the period 2024 - 2026 of the parent company - Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) and a number of urgent mechanisms and solutions necessary to implement the project to renovate, repair, upgrade and build a new office of the President's office at 2 Le Thach, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi.
