(CLO) The 5th Kon Tum Provincial Culture - Tourism Week, combined with the 2nd Gong and Sinus Festival of Ethnic Minorities, will take place from December 11 to 14, 2024 with many unique activities to honor and preserve the traditional culture of ethnic groups in the area.
The highlight of the event is the street festival with the participation of about 1,050 artists, artisans and students.
The performing troupes will recreate cultural beauty through costumes, music and traditional rituals, creating a vibrant cultural space in the heart of Kon Tum.

According to Mr. Phan Van Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province, this year's gong and xoang festival is organized on a larger scale, with the participation of artisan teams from all districts and cities in the province.
Each team will perform a 30-minute program, including gong performances and traditional xoang dances. A new feature of this festival is the gong tuning activity, to ensure the sound reflects the cultural identity of each ethnic group.
In addition, each locality will introduce a typical festival or cultural ritual, and organize demonstrations of traditional crafts such as weaving, weaving, carving wooden statues, building water wharves and huts.
The event not only honors cultural heritage but also contributes to raising awareness of preserving and promoting national identity, while opening up opportunities to introduce Kon Tum's tourism potential to domestic and foreign friends.
In particular, within the framework of the week, a conference to review tourism cooperation between the provinces of Vietnam and Laos (Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan) will take place, promising to promote regional cooperation, expand the market and contribute to stabilizing people's lives.
Mr. Hoang said that preparations have been basically completed. This Culture - Tourism Week is not only an opportunity for locals and tourists to immerse themselves in unique cultural activities, but also an opportunity to promote local economic - cultural - social development.
The event promises to bring a colorful picture of the land and people of Kon Tum, and at the same time invites visitors to explore the unique cultural and natural values here.
