According to coach Jurgen Klopp, Anfield is Liverpool's dream stadium but a nightmare for opponents.
Liverpool have won all 10 of their home games in all competitions this season, scoring 31 and conceding just four goals. In their most recent match, they thrashed LASK Linz 4-0 on 30 November, thereby taking top spot in Group E of the Europa League with one game to spare.
In all competitions, Liverpool are also unbeaten at Anfield since losing 2-5 to Real in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals in February 2023. In the Premier League, the last time Liverpool fell at Anfield was a 1-2 loss to Leeds in October 2022. Since that defeat, Klopp's team have dropped just six points with 18 wins and three draws.

Before the match against Fulham in round 14 of the Premier League, when asked about the high performance at Anfield, Klopp replied: "We play well at home even in bad times. This is Liverpool's home ground and it must be a difficult place to play against opponents. I think for every player, if they don't wear the Liverpool shirt and don't play in the Premier League, playing at Anfield is a dream. But in reality, it must be a nightmare."
Klopp praised his colleague Marco Silva as a top coach and rated set pieces as Fulham's strongest point. The German coach also pointed out Fulham's dangerous strikers, including Raul Jimenez, Carlos Vinicius, Willian and Andreas Pereira. "We had difficulties at Fulham, but the next game is at Anfield and we have to make it difficult for them," Klopp emphasized.
Klopp stressed that English football is about to enter its most intense period at the end of the year, so it is necessary to constantly rotate the squad, especially in attack. In December, Liverpool will have to play eight matches in all competitions, including one in the Europa League, one in the League Cup and six in the Premier League, including two big matches against Man Utd on December 17 and Arsenal on December 23.
With Alisson Becker still recovering from injury, reserve goalkeeper Caoimhmin Kelleher will start for the first time in the Premier League today. The Irishman has previously made four appearances in the Europa League, and two more in the League Cup this season.
Klopp once praised Kelleher as the best reserve goalkeeper in the world and was confident that his student was ready for the starting position. The German coach revealed that he refused to let Kelleher leave on loan in the summer of 2023 because he was a player who grew up at the club. "We see in daily training sessions that Kelleher is a special talent," Klopp praised his student.
