“Activating” many solutions to ensure safe and stable electricity supply

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this year's hot season will begin in the second half of April in many localities across the country and last for more than 3 months, leading to a possible spike in electricity demand.

In Ha Tinh, it is expected that in April 2025, electricity consumption in the province will increase by about 5% compared to the same period in 2024 and will continue to increase in the coming months. Grasping the weather forecast and the demand for load growth, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has "activated" many solutions with the goal of providing safe and stable electricity.

As the unit in charge of managing the power system in the city with more than 46,000 customers, Ha Tinh City Electricity has promptly implemented a review, inspection and implementation of many solutions to improve the quality of technical management and grid operation.

Up to now, Ha Tinh City Electricity has replaced and energized the 2025 overload prevention construction investment project with 12 transformers; rotated 36 transformers to suit the electricity load demand; balanced and reversed the phase of 125 transformers; replaced 32 low-voltage cabinets and more than 9,000 meters of low-voltage cables... At the same time, we have carried out propaganda with people and customers to use electricity safely and economically, especially during peak hours".

With the goal of providing safe and stable electricity and improving the quality of electricity in the hot summer weather of 2025, Ha Tinh High Voltage Grid Enterprise has also implemented many solutions to maintain the quality and reliability of the 110kV grid.

According to Mr. Ha Minh Dong - Director of Ha Tinh High Voltage Grid Enterprise, the unit regularly carries out periodic tasks such as: cleaning hotlines, clearing all lines to reduce incidents causing power outages for customers; using thermal cameras to check long-term operating grid locations day and night to propose repair and replacement measures; developing plans to ensure reliability of power supply, handling existing problems such as adding grounding wires and installing lightning valve counters, replacing pole clamps at isolating switches, industrial cleaning, etc.

On the 110kV grid, the transmission line team has reviewed and handled defects, installed new pole caps, raised beams, and replaced porcelain in many locations. Operators regularly monitor loads, check electrical equipment, measure PD discharge and contact point temperatures during peak hours. In addition, the unit has also completed the diagram of the 110kV Vung Ang Transformer Station, the 110kV Ky Anh Transformer Station and the telecommunications system; replaced the T1 transformer of the 110kV Huong Khe Transformer Station to ensure operation when upgrading the 10kV to 22kV grid (expected to be completed on April 20).

At the units under Ha Tinh Electricity Company, solutions and tasks to ensure power supply for the hot season have also been focused on implementation. According to statistics, since the beginning of the year, the entire company has carried out phase balancing of 661 out-of-phase transformer stations, combined with checking the operating status of 234 low-voltage capacitor banks, and reset 81 damaged capacitor banks that are not operating to handle the low voltage situation at the source end. At the same time, overloaded transformers have been rotated, underloaded transformers have been handled, and long-term operating transformers have been replaced and increased in capacity with 141 units; 718 defects on the grid have been handled; 113 hotline insulation cleaning sessions have been performed, 195 hotline repairs have been performed; 5S adjustment has been carried out with 53 distribution transformer stations, 41.3 km of high-medium voltage lines and 34.5 km of low-voltage lines.

In particular, the unit has actively accelerated the process of implementing investment and improving the power grid system through construction investment projects. With the goal of minimizing overload and power loss, on March 31, 17/17 power grid construction investment projects implemented by the company were energized and put into use. At the same time, the urgent transformer replacement and capacity increase project in 2024 - 2025 was also completed with 96 transformers, 96 low-voltage cabinets and 96 main cables replaced.

Currently, Ha Tinh Electricity Company is implementing and accelerating the progress of 5 projects to renovate the loop circuit, connecting medium voltage lines between regions, contributing to improving the quality of power supply.

In addition, the propaganda work on electricity saving is also focused. Expecting that the demand for electricity load will continue to increase, Ha Tinh Electricity Company has sent a document requesting units and localities to coordinate in electricity saving work, reducing unnecessary lighting systems and decorative electricity, especially during peak hours; directing affiliated units to proactively work with customers with large capacity loads to participate in signing load adjustment programs, shifting loads out of peak hours to limit local grid overload.

Accordingly, in the first 3 months of 2025, the company signed electricity saving agreements with 55,604 administrative, public lighting, industrial production and service business customers. The total electricity saving output of the company reached 9.72 million kWh, equivalent to 2.67% of commercial electricity.
