Construction of Great Solidarity Houses for poor and near-poor households begins in 2024

On the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the re-establishment of the province (April 1, 1992 - April 1, 2024) and the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of Ninh Thuan (April 16, 1975 - April 16, 2024), the liberation of the South, and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2024), on April 25, in Phuoc Ha commune (Thuan Nam), the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a Great Unity house for poor and near-poor households according to Project 384 in 2024. Attending the event were comrade Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Implementing Project 384 to support housing for poor and near-poor households in the period of 2023-2025. The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has developed a plan to support 1,243 houses. Of which, the implementation roadmap in 2023 is that 243 houses have been completed and handed over to households; in 2024, 500 houses will be deployed and in 2025, 500 houses will be deployed. The minimum construction cost for each house is 100 million VND; of which, the source of social mobilization support and the provincial and district budget is 90 million VND, the rest is mobilized from families, relatives, clans, and communities. The minimum house construction area is 32m2, the house structure ensures the "3 hard" standard (hard floor, frame - hard wall and hard roof) and has a toilet.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Great Unity houses for poor and near-poor households under Project 384 in 2024 is a particularly meaningful event, opening up practical activities to celebrate the anniversaries of major holidays of the province and the country, as well as aiming to practically welcome the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, term 2024-2029. In order for the project to be effectively implemented, according to the Prime Minister's launch of the emulation movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" by 2025, he suggested that in the coming time, the Front and Steering Committees at all levels need to regularly urge, inspect and supervise the implementation of the program to ensure the correct principles, objects and forms of support; promptly remove obstacles and difficulties in the process of implementing support for house building. For the locality, it is necessary to choose reputable contractors with construction capacity, construction according to the design, ensuring quality and on schedule. On the part of the people, when receiving financial support from the project, they need to proactively add counterpart resources to build more spacious and sustainable houses, make efforts to "settle down and work", encourage each other to be determined to develop the family economy to improve day by day to escape poverty sustainably and create a spreading effect. At the same time, the comrade also acknowledged the sharing and noble meaning of the sponsors, hoping that businesses, philanthropists and benefactors will continue to join hands to support resources to care for the poor, leaving no one behind.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented a support board to build 22 Great Solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households in Thuan Nam district.
