Accordingly, the inspection team visited Km 3+500 on TL14B (Loc Son commune, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province), the planned starting point for expansion to connect to the interchange with the final section of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway. Simultaneously, they conducted a comprehensive inspection of the scale, expansion route, access roads, interchanges, and additional interchanges on TL15.
In addition, the relevant authorities assess the demand and supply capacity of construction material quarries and waste disposal sites; and the use of service roads to facilitate construction.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh, the Cam Lo - La Son expressway project is a key national transportation route on the North-South axis.
The Cam Lo - La Son expressway was developed in phases, with phase 1 completed with 2 lanes. Although operating conditions are still limited, due to its mobility and convenience, traffic volume has increased much faster than predicted during the project design.
To date, the Cam Lo - La Son expressway, which has been developed in phases, has reached its designed traffic capacity and needs to be upgraded and expanded to 4 lanes to ensure operation during the 2025-2030 period.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province requested relevant units and localities to prepare the necessary conditions for the investment preparation of the Cam Lo - La Son expressway expansion project, such as relocating technical infrastructure and power grids for the expansion phase, if any; developing plans for access roads connecting to the expressway's entry and exit points; opening additional connection points to the expressway and service roads; and reviewing the planning related to the route and the intersections and access roads to and from the expressway.
In addition, there are proposals for adding service roads for local residents and waste disposal sites; the demand and supply capacity of construction material quarries and waste disposal sites; and proposals for adding quarries to the project to ensure sufficient material for construction.

"During the research and implementation process, relevant agencies, units, and localities are requested to pay attention to issues related to people's lives, such as the environment; avoiding situations such as localized flooding and the removal of protective fences due to inadequacies in opening access roads," Mr. Minh emphasized.
Previously, as reported by Giao Thong Newspaper, the Prime Minister had directed research to mobilize resources to expand the entire Cam Lo - La Son route to a full four lanes.
The Ministry of Transport has now decided to develop a pre-feasibility study report for the second phase of expansion. Accordingly, the total investment for the entire 98km Cam Lo - La Son expressway expansion to four lanes in phase two is expected to be around 7,000 billion VND.
The Ministry of Transport also proposed that the Government allocate funds from surplus revenue and implement the project under an emergency order. If these policies and mechanisms are approved, the project is expected to commence construction at the end of 2024 and be substantially completed in 2025.
