Sin Quyen copper mine located in Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, is the largest copper mine in Vietnam. Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai always complies with the mining license granted in terms of both reserves and mining borders.
Sin Quyen copper mine is located in the area of 2 communes Ban Vuoc and Coc My, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province, with a total reserve of about 53.5 million tons of copper ore, average content of 0.95% Cu, is considered the largest copper mine in Vietnam. The mine was discovered by geologists 5 of the General Department of Geology in 1961.
In 1969, Geological Group 5 conducted a detailed exploration; in 1973, the field exploration was completed, and in 1974, the "Summary report on the detailed exploration of the Sin Quyen Copper Mine - Lao Cai" was completed. This report was approved by the General Department of Geology, serving as the basis for future exploitation.
Sin Quyen Copper Mine Enterprise, Lao Cai was established on July 1, 2005, according to Decision No. 984/2005/QD - TCLĐ signed on June 21, 2005 and officially came into operation on May 20, 2006, with the predecessor being Lao Cai Copper Joint Venture Enterprise.
On August 1, 2006, it became a unit under the Minerals Corporation - TKV and was renamed Sin Quyen Copper Mine Company, Lao Cai. By October 15, 2015, the Corporation operated under the model of a joint stock company, the unit became a branch of the Corporation, with the full name: Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico to date.
Over the years, Sin Quyen Copper Mine Branch, Lao Cai - Vimico has always implemented the motto of exploiting and using minerals economically and effectively, as well as applying advanced technology in mining and processing to protect the environment.
