The People's Committee of Tra Vinh province has just organized the opening ceremony of the Southern Culture, Tourism - Cuisine Festival Week associated with the Ooc Om Boc Festival of Tra Vinh province in 2024. The week includes 16 activities taking place from November 9 to 15 to celebrate the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National United Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2024).
Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee spoke at the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People's Committee, said that this year's festival includes many exciting activities such as: Southern culinary space; "Tra Vinh - Connection and Development" tourism exhibition space; trade promotion fair; Khmer ethnic dance festival; demonstration of traditional Khmer ethnic crafts and costumes; water puppetry performance; Ngo boat racing; sports competitions and folk games...

In particular, at Ba Om Pond Cultural Tourism Area, there are also activities such as the Ooc Om Boc Festival night and exhibition of booths of 9 districts, towns and cities, displaying typical products of the Khmer people and reenacting the moon worship ceremony, parade and releasing water lanterns...
According to the organizers, this is also an opportunity for people to meet, encourage and compete in production, study and work; continue to preserve and promote national cultural identity, contributing to the successful implementation of the local socio-economic goals in 2024.
In addition, the activities in the event series also aim to promote and introduce Tra Vinh as a safe and attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.
