Along with that, the Primary School Football and High School Basketball tournaments took place on the same day, attracting the participation of many young athletes from schools in the EQuest system in the Southern region.
In an exciting atmosphere at the MLC Gymnasium (Canadian International School CIS - EQuest Member), the opening ceremony of the EQuest Champions Series 2025 Southern region took place with the presence of EQuest representatives, guests, school board, teachers, coaching staff, young athletes and a large number of fans.
In the Southern region, the tournament was held at the Maple Leaf Center, the Canadian International School CIS campus and Sedbergh Vietnam - BCIS. These are the schools with the largest and most beautiful sports facilities of EQuest in the Southern region such as: 50m Olympic-standard swimming pool, National-standard basketball stadium (currently also the home of the Saigon Heat basketball team), 5 soccer fields, golf course, tennis court...
Entering its second season, the EQuest Champions Series 2025 Southern region has 6 sports: Swimming, Soccer, Basketball, Badminton, Table Tennis and Chess. In the future, in the following seasons, EQuest will also bring more diverse sports and competition formats, creating opportunities for many students to experience and express themselves in many different fields.
Attending the event, Captain of the Vietnam national football team Do Hung Dung said: “Accompanying the EQuest Champions Series to the second season, I find this to be a very professional and serious school sports playground. Here, students will have a healthy playground with valuable experiences to develop both physically and mentally.”
Also on September 28, the Primary School Football Tournament and the High School Boys and Girls Basketball Tournament took place, attracting many young athletes to compete.
The EQuest Champions Series 2025 for the Southern Region has kicked off with exciting and dramatic matches in the Primary School Football and High School Basketball tournaments. Other sports such as swimming, badminton, table tennis and chess, along with other level matches, will continue in November 2024 and March 2025.
At the end of the event, the Gold Medal in Soccer belonged to the Happy School team, the Gold Medal in Women's Basketball belonged to the Einstein School HCMC team, and the Gold Medal in Men's Basketball belonged to the Canadian International School CIS team.
In addition, individual awards went to: Pham Chi Quan of Happy School Primary School with 2 awards: Top Scorer, Outstanding Player in Football; Tran Thy Thy and Phan Huu Anh Khoi won Outstanding Player in Basketball.
The EQuest Champions Series is EQuest’s largest ever school sports event, launched across the entire K-12 block. The event is now in its second season and is expected to be held annually in the coming years. The EQuest Champions Series aims to spread positive sportsmanship to the community, helping young sports talents have the opportunity to experience a top-notch environment, thereby discovering and developing their potential.
The referees in charge of the entire tournament are professional referees, specializing in refereeing major tournaments.
