Tour plans to Bangkok from Vietnam are being affected by the aftershocks of the earthquake in Myanmar on March 28.
Currently, all flights from Vietnam to Thailand's Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports have resumed operations.
Travel agencies continue to operate tours for guests. However, according to experts, tourists also need to pay attention and update the situation.
Bangkok tour affected, many other destinations keep the same schedule
According to Tuoi Tre , many Bangkok tours from Vietnam are still "not taking off". Some travel companies found the aftershocks of the earthquake too severe and when the government declared a state of emergency, all Bangkok tours "taking off" in April had to be canceled, while other departure schedules continued as usual.
For example, Viet Travel Company, a group of 40 guests departed in early April but the tour was canceled, monitoring the situation to plan a new time for the guests.
On March 30, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of the tourism company Viettravel said that the schedule for guests participating in the Bangkok (Thailand) tour remains the same.
Vietravel said there were more than 300 guests in Pattaya and Phuket. These places were not affected by the tremors in Bangkok, and the itinerary remained the same.
A tour operator from Viettravel said: "As of March 30, everything has stabilized. Tour guests have also been reassured. In the middle of next week, some of our Thailand tours will end their journey and return to Vietnam as originally scheduled."
Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, representative of Vietluxtour, said that this unit has 2 groups in Thailand but they are in Pattaya so the tour has not been affected.
"Vietluxtour and its partners are still closely monitoring the tour situation of the group and the actual destinations in the itinerary. Initially, we made other appropriate adjustments to ensure the tourists' itinerary. Now we have returned to the previous schedule," said Ms. Thu.
Tourism businesses should pay attention to updating new information from partners.
Information about the earthquake in Myanmar on March 28 greatly affected Thailand - a popular tourist destination for Vietnamese tourists, causing many tourists to worry.
Currently, on travel forums, many people share about "memorable" trips due to the earthquake in Thailand and also continuously share information about tourist destinations.
General advice from forums and travel groups on social networks, for individual travelers who are not in a hurry, consider your schedule. For group tours, you need to update information from the travel agency to ensure a safe trip.
Flights to Thailand and Myanmar are operating normally, with no recorded cases of cancellations or delays.
On March 30, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , airlines in Vietnam said that flights to and from Thailand and Myanmar were still operating normally on March 30, although some delays were unavoidable. In addition, there have not been many cases of passengers canceling or postponing tickets.
According to records, on the morning of March 30, many flights of major airlines such as Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways and international airlines such as AirAsia or Malaysia Airlines still took off as scheduled. For example, ThaiAsia flight FD567 from Ho Chi Minh City to Don Mueang (Thailand) left the airport at 9:45.
Meanwhile, Vietnam Airlines flight VN605 from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, scheduled to take off at 11:35, was reported to be delayed by about 1 hour. Other flights during the day to Thailand and Malaysia, such as Malaysia Airlines flight MH751 to Kuala Lumpur or Vietjet and Vietravel Airlines flights to Bangkok, were still deployed as planned.
Regarding the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Myanmar and Thailand, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam assessed that the impact on domestic civil aviation activities was insignificant.
Airlines are working with travel companies to be ready to adjust and even increase flights if passenger demand increases in the near future. On the passenger side, airlines said they will continue to provide 24/7 support via official channels such as hotline, email, Facebook, Zalo, etc.
