Klook's survey results show that events are the main driving force behind 42% of travelers' travel decisions.

In addition to the trend of combining tourism with event participation, Vietnamese tourists also prioritize seasonal travel. The survey shows that a large proportion of Vietnamese tourists plan their trips based on their preferred weather and climate.

In addition, social media is a source of travel inspiration for tourists in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam. Up to 62% of Vietnamese tourists said they trust recommendations and objective posts on social media from ordinary users and non-celebrity content creators.

Klook’s report also shows that Vietnamese tourists’ demand for overseas travel increased in the first three months of this year. Southeast Asia is the most popular region for Vietnamese tourists, with leading destinations including Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

On the other hand, international tourism demand to Vietnam in the first quarter of 2024 nearly doubled compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. The average spending of international visitors also increased by about 13% over the same period.
