Dong Nai in particular and the Southeast region in general have been promoting the connection of logistics networks, port services...

Tan Cang Saigon cooperates with the largest seaport in Dong Nai

Currently, the Southeast is an area with important logistics infrastructure of the country. In particular, the region has the largest seaport cluster in the country (Tan Cang Cat Lai, Cai Mep - Thi Vai Port). In addition, the region also has 6 public shipping lanes in operation...

According to many experts, to promote effective regional connectivity, the Southeast region needs to focus on building close cooperation mechanisms, upgrading and developing transport infrastructure, strengthening connectivity, expanding logistics services; upgrading and developing the port support system, loading and unloading system; transit cargo service system; warehousing system, inland transport connectivity system, etc.

According to experts, to promote port and logistics service linkages in the Southeast region, localities need to have solutions to promote science and technology, link port service chains, support transportation, develop human resources, promote green transformation activities, and develop sustainably in the context of increasingly deep integration.

In Dong Nai, the province will develop a multimodal transport system and logistics services, based on modern regional and provincial logistics centers. In particular, Phuoc An Port - the largest seaport in the province, will be one of the driving forces to promote import and export activities, industrial production, etc.

Recently, Saigon Newport Corporation and Phuoc An Port Investment and Exploitation Petroleum Joint Stock Company (Phuoc An Port Company) signed a cooperation agreement to promote effective port exploitation, while expanding the logistics ecosystem in the Southern region, better serving the increasing import and export needs of businesses.

Accordingly, Tan Cang Saigon Corporation (the unit operating and exploiting services at two large port clusters in the South, Cat Lai Port and Tan Cang Cai Mep) signed a cooperation agreement with Phuoc An Port - the largest port in Dong Nai, in supporting the reception of a part of the ships transferred from the international service route at Cat Lai Port.

Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation Nguyen Phuong Nam shared that this cooperation shows the great determination of Saigon Newport Corporation in removing infrastructure bottlenecks, finding flexible and adaptable operational solutions in the context of rapid output growth; at the same time, affirming an open mindset, ready to cooperate for the common interests of customers, shipping lines and partner ports...

Phuoc An Port General Director Truong Hoang Hai said that the combination of Phuoc An Port's modern infrastructure potential and Saigon New Port's leading port management and operation experience will create a comprehensive and effective logistics ecosystem, helping businesses reduce transportation costs and optimize cargo delivery time. At the same time, connecting domestic and international transport routes will open up many cooperation opportunities, enhancing the competitiveness of shipping lines, import-export enterprises and partners in the supply chain.

Developing a green, sustainable logistics ecosystem

Currently, Dong Nai and localities in the Southeast region are focusing on completing connecting traffic infrastructure, logistics, etc. In particular, promoting digital transformation and green transformation activities are increasingly receiving attention and focus.

At the working session with the Department of Industry and Trade in early March 2025, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung requested that Dong Nai's industry and trade sector focus on implementing tasks and solutions to promote double-digit economic growth in the industrial and trade sectors according to appropriate scenarios and targets in 2025.

The province will continue to improve the effectiveness of trade promotion activities, trade connection, promote the development of port services, logistics, etc. Thereby, increasing import-export turnover, strengthening solutions to implement the net zero roadmap, developing green economy, and circular economy in the area.

Mr. Truong Hoang Hai added that, aiming at the goal of developing a green and sustainable port, Phuoc An Port pioneered the application of Green Port standards, invested in modern infrastructure systems, used clean energy, digital technology and smart operating solutions to minimize environmental impact and optimize operational efficiency.

In the coming time, Phuoc An Port commits to continue sustainable development, contributing to the modernization of the logistics industry and making Dong Nai an attractive destination in the global maritime transport network.
