Connecting Hue - Korea via direct flights

The first flight connecting Hue with Seoul was operated as a charter flight using Vietjet's modern A321 aircraft, bringing people and tourists from the ancient capital of Hue to the capital of Seoul in the land of "kimchi" and vice versa.

The charter flight departed from Phu Bai International Airport late on July 31 and early on August 1 with 228 passengers from Thua Thien Hue province, including a delegation promoting tourism and promoting the cultural heritage of Thua Thien Hue led by member of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh. Accompanying the delegation to Korea was a traditional royal art performance troupe of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center.

In Korea, the delegation will organize a forum to promote tourism and promote Hue cultural heritage in Seoul on August 4. In addition, the delegation will have meetings and work with a number of cultural and tourism partners in Seoul and Goechang.

In the opposite direction, the flight from Incheon (landing at the airport at 10:50 on August 1) brought 151 tourists, a number of travel agencies and media units to Hue and will carry out a 4-day, 3-night program to visit and survey the ancient capital of Hue.

Attending the welcoming ceremony was Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The delegation will have activities to explore and experience destinations and products that have been researched and selected by the Thua Thien Hue tourism industry and Korean partners to be included in the program designed specifically for the Korean charter group, in order to create a deep and memorable impression of the most unique royal cultural heritage values as well as new imprints on the traditional foundation of the ancient capital of Hue.

The delegation will also be introduced to new products associated with the form of resort and health care that is being formed locally.

The delegation will visit a space displaying and demonstrating the tailoring of Hue’s traditional Ao Dai, and will enjoy Hue’s typical cuisine. Some members of the delegation will also have a golf course experience at Laguna Lang Co resort through participating in an exchange tournament with Thua Thien Hue Golf Club.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh shared that tourism is identified as a key economic sector of the province and developing international and domestic flights is the province's strategy. The first charter flight connecting Thua Thien Hue with Korea is expected to create a strong move to contribute to the recovery of the Korean tourist market, aiming to have more charter flights from Korea to Thua Thien Hue in the near future. Besides, it will contribute to stimulating demand, promoting tourism development in the province; attracting tourists, especially international tourists back to Thua Thien Hue.

Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, General Director of Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, said that Hue - Seoul (Incheon, Korea) is the second international route that Vietjet operates to Terminal T2, Phu Bai International Airport. Previously, Vietjet was also the first airline to operate an international route to Phu Bai Airport from Kunming (China), opening up opportunities for tourism and trade development...

- In the coming time, Vietjet will continue to coordinate with provincial agencies and Phu Bai International Airport to organize more flights, contributing to promoting tourism development in Thua Thien Hue.
