Germany Striker Harry Kane scored to help Bayern Munich defeat visiting team Gladbach 3-1 in round 20 of the Bundesliga.
Bayern had lost at least once to Gladbach every season since 2017-18, until breaking the streak this season. Thomas Tuchel's side fell behind, but this time Harry Kane made the difference with a goal to make it 2-1.
In the 70th minute, from a cross from Leon Goretzka on the left, striker Thomas Muller rushed in to compete for the ball in the air with goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas. The away team's goalkeeper made a mistake when he pushed the ball right into Kane's position, allowing the English striker to head into an empty net.

This was Kane's 24th goal in 20 Bundesliga games this season. The previous record for the fastest player to score 24 goals was Erling Haaland for Dortmund, who scored in 25 games. Kane broke Haaland's record by five games, while chasing several other records. With just seven more goals, Kane would break the record for the most goals scored by a rookie in a first season in the Bundesliga, set by Uwe Seeler with Hamburg with 30 goals.
Kane's Bundesliga scoring streak was broken in the win over Gladbach earlier this season. This time, he found the back of the net against Bayern's bitter rivals. Only three teams have not been scored against by Kane in the league: Freiburg, Frankfurt and Bremen.
The match on February 3 also marked Muller's 500th victory with Bayern, in 690 matches. He is only 16 games away from goalkeeper Sepp Maier's record for the most appearances for Bayern. Muller is likely to break this record at the end of the season, when Bayern still have two arenas, the Champions League and the Bundesliga.
Three points against Gladbach were not enough for Bayern to go top of the Bundesliga, as Bayer Leverkusen also beat Darmstadt 2-0 in the same match. These results make the big match between Bayern and Leverkusen in round 21 even more exciting. The match, considered the "early final" of the Bundesliga, will take place on February 10.
