Billionaire Elon Musk gave an online speech to 4,500 people attending the campaign event of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
The Guardian reported on January 26 that in a speech before a hall of thousands of people, with the participation of AfD co-leader Alice Weidel on January 25, Mr. Elon Musk mentioned the issue of preserving culture and protecting the German people,
“It’s good to be proud of German culture, German values, and not lose that in a multiculturalism that dilutes everything,” Musk said. “I’m very excited about the AfD, I think you guys are really the best hope for Germany’s fight for a bright future for Germany,” the American billionaire added.
AfD co-leader Weidel thanked Mr Musk for his presence, saying that Republicans in the US were making America great again and calling on supporters to “make Germany great again”.
Mr Musk sparked controversy on US President Donald Trump’s inauguration day, when he gave a Nazi salute at an event on January 20. On January 25, he said: “Children should not carry the sins of their parents, let alone their great-grandparents. There is too much focus on the sins of the past and we need to move past that.”
