Kaity Nguyen joins the 2025 Tet movie race

In addition to taking on the female lead role in the 2025 Tet film project Love by Mistake , Kaity Nguyen also acts as creative director.

Love the wrong best friend is a Vietnamese version of the famous Thai movie - Friend Zone . The film revolves around the ironic love story between two best friends of the opposite sex.

In the film, Kaity Nguyen will take on the female lead role that was successfully played by Thai actress Baifern Pimchanok in the original version.

Talking about taking on the role of creative director at the same time, Kaity Nguyen shared: “I think it’s been a long time since Vietnamese cinema has had a true rom-com (romantic comedy) project. The original script was already interesting, after 5 years we will update it to suit the times and the Vietnamese market. The film will be filmed in many places across Vietnam so the audience will enjoy many beautiful scenes of the country with us.”

Paired with Kaity is actor Tran Ngoc Vang. Working with Kaity Nguyen for the first time, Tran Ngoc Vang said he saw 80% of himself in the male lead character. “Ever since I watched the original, I thought if there was a remake, I would want to take on the male lead role. I am so happy that the two directors chose me for this project,” Tran Ngoc Vang shared.

In addition to the two actors mentioned above, the film also has the participation of actors: Thanh Son, Quynh Ly, Phuong Nam...

Taking on the role of director of Love by Mistaken Friend are two directors Diep The Vinh and Nguyen Quang Dung. A rather special thing, according to director Nguyen Quang Dung's revelation, out of his 11 films, up to 10 films he collaborated with director Diep The Vinh through many different roles and saw the directorial qualities of his colleague.

Love the Wrong Best Friend is a co-produced work by HK Film, Tran Thanh Town, Galaxy Studio, KAT House, GDH, GSC.

The film is expected to premiere on the first day of Tet At Ty 2025.
