Apple's Wonderlust event will take place at midnight on September 13 (Vietnam time). The iPhone maker will broadcast the event live on YouTube and Apple TV.
The iPhone 15 is the highlight of the show. Rumor has it that there will be four new iPhone models launched tonight, including: the regular 6.1-inch iPhone 15, the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Plus, the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro, and the 6.7-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max. The starting prices are $799, $899, $999, and $1,199, respectively.
Typically, Apple launches new iPhones 10 days after the launch, meaning users can buy the iPhone 15 on September 22.
In terms of color, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are rumored to come in black, white, blue, and pink. Meanwhile, the two Pro versions come in black, gray, blue, titanium, and dark blue.
In terms of design, leaked images show that the iPhone 15 will return to the curved design, rounded edges and all have Dynamic Island. The rear camera cluster is also new.
Apple may equip the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max with a Grade 5 titanium frame. The power and volume buttons will be repositioned, while a new Action key will replace the old Mute key. This Action key is customizable and functions as a Mute button.
The biggest design change on the iPhone 15 is the USB-C port, replacing the proprietary Lightning port. The European Union has just issued a regulation requiring all phones to use this port by 2024. However, the transmission speed via the USB-C port on the iPhone 15, 15 Plus will be slower than the 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max, according to analyst Ming Chi Kuo.
In terms of camera, according to analysts from Nomura, the regular iPhone 15 also gets a 48MP camera upgrade like the iPhone 14 Pro. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has the best camera, including a periscope lens for better long-range shooting, providing 6x optical zoom, double the 3x zoom on the 14 Pro Max.
Regarding the screen, Apple still maintains OLED panels for all four iPhone 15 models, of which the iPhone 15 Pro Max can use a screen with a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits, the highest brightness on a smartphone.
Additionally, according to the leaked images, the Pro version has thinner screen bezels, 1.55mm compared to 2.1mm on the predecessor device.
In terms of configuration, it seems that only the iPhone 15 Pro has an upgraded A17 Bionic chip, while the regular version reuses the A16 Bionic chip of the iPhone 14 Pro. TrendForce's report suggests that Apple wants to increase the capacity and parameters of RAM on the device.
As for the battery, rumors suggest that all iPhone 15s will have larger batteries. As for the operating system, all four models will come with iOS 17, which was introduced in June with changes to messaging, FaceTime, and the addition of a new Journal app.
