The program will be implemented from 2023 to 2024, supporting about 200 children being cared for at protection centers in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with a total of 9,600 nutritional products.
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Dinh Tien Hai, Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund, hoped that the meaningful gift given by Nestlé Vietnam would help children have better nutritional conditions, improve their physical health, and share and reduce difficulties for childcare facilities.
According to Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund Dinh Tien Hai, in Vietnam, children are increasingly receiving attention from all levels, sectors and the social community. Thanks to that, children's basic rights are better implemented. The goals of protection, care, education, recreation, development and participation of children are increasingly ensured and implemented better. However, besides the achievements, there is still much to be done to achieve better results in the goal of caring for and protecting children.
According to the latest data reported by the Government to the National Assembly on May 8, 2023, out of a total of about 25 million children under 16 years old, there are still about 1.7 million children in special circumstances (accounting for 6.8%); over 2 million children are at risk of falling into special circumstances (accounting for 8%, mainly living in poor and near-poor families). Therefore, more cooperation and contribution from all levels, sectors, organizations, and attention from the community and society is needed for the care, protection and education of children, especially children in especially difficult circumstances, so that they can have a better future life.
"The Vietnam Children's Fund always acknowledges the contributions of sponsors, philanthropists, golden hearts for children, and role models for the community who have accompanied the Fund" - Director of the Vietnam Children's Fund Dinh Tien Hai affirmed.
Since 2022, Nestlé Vietnam Limited has sponsored children in special and difficult circumstances through the Vietnam Children's Support Fund with an amount of about 1.4 billion VND. The nutrition product support program is about to be implemented to join hands with the Vietnam Children's Support Fund to help children in special circumstances being cared for at social protection centers have the opportunity to access nutritional products, helping them have a healthier future.
