On the morning of June 17, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh Yen city), the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Embassy of India in Vietnam and Bao Viet Life Corporation to celebrate the 9th International Yoga Day in 2023.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Trung Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Sandeep Arya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Vietnam; representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors, and Vinh Yen City People's Committee.
Originating from the Ganges civilization, thousands of years ago, yoga has become a practice method to improve health, develop the whole body and mind, connect, unite, and harmonize everyone. With these good benefits, the United Nations has chosen June 21 every year as International Yoga Day.
In Vinh Phuc, yoga is becoming increasingly popular, the movement of practicing yoga to improve health has been growing strongly in both quantity and quality. This year, the International Yoga Day has the theme "yoga for peace and happiness". The main activity of the event is a performance with continuous yoga exercises performed by students of yoga clubs and centers in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Trung Hai highly appreciated the meaningful activities of the ceremony, thereby contributing to promoting and encouraging the yoga practice movement of all Vinh Phuc people; at the same time, further strengthening the friendly relationship between Vinh Phuc province and the Indian Embassy in Vietnam in particular and between Vietnam and India in general. He believed that the good relationship between Vietnam and India will continue to be strengthened and developed strongly, closely, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, contributing to promoting peace and development in the world.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, more than 1,000 yoga students from yoga clubs and centers in the province performed a yoga performance to celebrate International Yoga Day 2023.
