On August 15-16, the Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Command organized the 2024 Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard Language Contest for officers and professional soldiers who have been trained in the neighboring language (Chinese) at schools inside and outside the military.

The competition has 9 teams with 54 comrades working at units in Lao Cai Provincial Border Guard. The competition consists of 2 parts: individual competition and group competition.
In the individual competition, contestants demonstrate four skills: listening, speaking, reading comprehension, and writing. In the group competition, teams participate in three contents: greeting, public speaking, and answering direct questions.

According to the assessment, the Organizing Committee and the Jury have directed and operated the units strictly and seriously according to the plan and regulations during the scoring process; evaluated the results strictly, objectively, impartially and truthfully. The participating units have thoroughly grasped and implemented the construction of a complete system of strict and high-quality competition documents.
As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to Lao Cai International Border Gate Border Guard Station, the Second Prize to Pha Long Border Guard Station and the Third Prize to Trinh Tuong Border Guard Station; and also awarded the First, Second and Third Prizes to 3 individuals.
The contest aims to evaluate the quality of training and fostering of neighboring languages of the units, contributing to the successful implementation of all assigned tasks, and at the same time is an opportunity to exchange learning experiences between units; continue to promote the emulation movement of studying well, teaching foreign languages well in general, training and fostering neighboring languages in particular and improve the effectiveness of training in neighboring languages in the Border Guard.
