Vietnam Journalists Association 2023 a brilliant year

Overcoming difficulties and challenges, the Vietnam Journalists Association, together with its staff and members nationwide, have enthusiastically competed and strived to successfully achieve many goals in association activities and journalism activities. Let’s review these outstanding achievements with the Journalists & Public Opinion Newspaper:

1. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and worked with the Vietnam Journalists Association. The Prime Minister requested to continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the goal of building a professional, humane and modern press and media system according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

2. National Press Festival 2023 with the theme "Solidarity - Professionalism - Culture - Creativity". This is a big festival for journalists nationwide, the event attracts 87 exhibition booths with the participation of 63 provincial and municipal Journalists Associations, 60 central and local press agencies.

3. The 17th National Press Awards Ceremony - 2022 was held. The National Press Awards is a noble award honoring authors and groups of authors with excellent works and positive contributions to the country's journalism career.

4. The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association held a conference in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) to review and evaluate the results of its activities. At the conference, the Vietnam Journalists Association elected 5 additional members to the Executive Committee and 3 members to the Standing Committee.

5. In 2023, the Vietnam Journalists Association also made many marks with international cooperation activities. These activities contributed to expanding friendly relations and cooperation with press organizations and journalist associations of countries and internationally, while promoting the role of the Vietnam Journalists Association at international press forums.

6. At the end of September 2023, in Quang Ninh province, the 2023 Editor-in-Chief Forum took place: "Policy communication - Perspectives from press agencies". The Forum was directed by the Vietnam Journalists Association and organized by the Journalists & Public Opinion Newspaper. At the Forum, delegates frankly shared, discussed, and agreed on a number of solutions to remove obstacles in the implementation of policy communication by the press, so that communication is truly an important resource, creating great strength and high efficiency in building and implementing policies.

7. The delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association visited many provinces and cities across the country to evaluate the role, quality and effectiveness of the activities of local Journalists Associations. At the meetings, delegates also discussed and proposed solutions on building economic and technical standards, organizational structure, staffing, etc. to create conditions for press activities in the area to continue to develop.

8. In many localities, the Vietnam Journalists Association organized a conference to summarize 6 years of implementing the 2016 Press Law, along with 10 regulations on professional ethics for Vietnamese journalists, rules for using social networks for Vietnamese journalists. Conferences to summarize 17 years of the National Press Awards and the High-Quality Journalism Support Program... The implementation of emulation to build a cultural environment in press agencies.

9. The 16th Vietnam Journalists Association Cup Table Tennis Tournament - 2023 contributes to strengthening solidarity, cohesion as well as improving health, creating an exciting competitive atmosphere for members nationwide.
