Quang Binh Provincial Lawyers Association celebrates 30th anniversary of its establishment

Attending the Ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, there were Mr. Tran Cong Phan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, and representatives of the leaders of the Vietnam Lawyers Association and the Quang Binh Provincial Lawyers Association.

On the side of Quang Binh province, there were Mr. Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Luong Binh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; together with leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, etc.

Achieved many milestones after 30 years of establishment

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thin, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial Bar Association, outlined the activities of the Provincial Bar Association over the years as well as the achievements after 30 years of establishment.

On April 4, 1955, the Vietnam Lawyers Association was established. Up to now, it has gone through nearly 69 years of construction and development, through 13 congresses. Along with the development of the Vietnam Lawyers Association and Quang Binh province, with 30 years of construction and development, the Quang Binh Lawyers Association has constantly strived, built, and organized the Association to become stronger and stronger, and increasingly promote the effectiveness of its activities.

Mr. Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, presented a banner with the content "Solidarity - Democracy - Development, for the people, for justice" to the Provincial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thin, Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial Lawyers Association, outlined the activities of the Provincial Lawyers Association through the periods.

During the 30-year journey of construction and development with many imprints of many generations of lawyers and many stages of development, there has been an increasingly clear change in the organization and operation of the Lawyers Association at all levels in the province.

Regarding organization, from only 122 members and 8 branches when it was first established, up to now, the Quang Binh Provincial Lawyers Association has been organized from the provincial level to the district level, commune-level branches and branches directly in departments, branches, sectors and units at the provincial level. The whole province currently has 2,192 members; 8/8 district-level Lawyers Associations; a legal consultancy center with 15 consultants; 24 branches under the Provincial Association, including 02 branches in enterprises, 02 branches in armed forces units; 91 grassroots branches in districts, cities and towns, including 44 branches at the commune level.

Party committees and authorities have created conditions for leaders of the Association at all levels to participate in periodic meetings in the Internal Affairs Bloc; participate in People's Council delegates; participate in inspection and supervision delegations of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, People's Council, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at the same level; participate in meeting voters and citizens; participate in the Steering Committee for Judicial Reform;...

Regarding activities, the Association has proactively and actively implemented solutions to innovate its operating methods and mobilize resources to perform its tasks; and has strongly applied information technology in its activities. In the general difficult conditions of the province and the Association's own difficulties, in addition to effectively implementing the very modest budget allocated, the Association has proactively coordinated with local authorities and related agencies and organizations to perform its tasks, such as: the Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Justice, the Provincial Inspectorate, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Bar Association, the Provincial Youth Union, the District People's Committees, etc.

Regarding the implementation of professional and technical activities, all levels of the association always pay attention and focus, both synchronously and comprehensively; both determining key tasks, suitable to the position, nature and conditions of the Association; both meeting the requirements of the political tasks of the Association, of the agencies, units and localities where the Association is organized.

Over the past 30 years, the entire Provincial Association has contributed comments on more than 5,500 draft Laws, Codes, Ordinances, Decrees and draft legal documents of ministries, central branches and local authorities; draft Association Charter and draft Political Reports of Party organizations through Congresses...

Mr. Nguyen Luong Binh, Head of the Internal Affairs Committee of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, awarded a certificate of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to the Provincial Lawyers Association.

In particular, the Association has performed well the task of chairing the implementation of the Project "Socialization of legal dissemination, education and legal aid", making many contributions to the overall results of the province over 5 years of implementing the 2013 Constitution and 15 years of implementing Directive No. 32-CT/TW dated December 9, 2003 of the Central Party Secretariat, 20 years of implementing Directive No. 56-CT/TW...

With the results achieved, from 2012 to now, the Provincial Association has been awarded the flag of excellent advanced unit and excellent emulation unit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association 3 times and the flag of excellent emulation unit by the Provincial People's Committee once; 112 individuals and 71 collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Lawyers Association, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; 570 individuals and 252 collectives were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Internal Affairs Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial Lawyers Association. In particular, the Emulation and Reward Council and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Lawyers Association selected and honored 50 excellent lawyers on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Provincial Lawyers Association.

The provincial bar association has done its job very well.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Binh province, acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of the Quang Binh Provincial Lawyers Association during 30 years of formation and development.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee also expressed his gratitude for the attention and support of the Vietnam Lawyers Association for the Provincial Lawyers Association and hoped that the Vietnam Lawyers Association would continue to pay attention, support and create more favorable conditions for the Provincial Lawyers Association to participate in the implementation of activities and projects of the Vietnam Lawyers Association; coordinate with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments, branches and sectors to lead and direct the activities of the Provincial Lawyers Association in the coming time.

Mr. Tran Hai Chau, Standing Deputy Secretary of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee spoke at the ceremony.

“We hope that Party committees, authorities at all levels and the Provincial Bar Association will continue to thoroughly grasp and implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies, focusing on Directive No. 14-CT/TW of the Politburo on continuing to strengthen the Party's leadership over the Vietnam Bar Association.

In addition to promoting the role of social supervision and criticism, the Provincial Bar Association needs to further promote the advantage of a large and widespread team of lawyers throughout the province, applying the experience and knowledge of its members to participate in areas such as civil mediation, legal advice, legal aid for the people, especially in the work of resolving complaints and denunciations," said Mr. Tran Hai Chau.
