Provincial Veterans Association launches Tree Planting Festival 2024

On February 21, in Gia Phong commune (Gia Vien district), the Provincial Veterans Association organized the launching ceremony of "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho" in 2024. This is an annual activity of the Provincial Veterans Association in response to the "Tet tree planting" movement launched by Uncle Ho and the Program of planting 1 billion green trees "for a green Vietnam".

At the launching ceremony, the leader of the Provincial Association of War Veterans said: from 2021 to 2023, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the province planted nearly 180,000 trees in communes and towns in the province; striving to plant 250,000 trees by 2025. To achieve this target, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Association of War Veterans requested that the Association of War Veterans at all levels in districts and cities continue to propagate and raise awareness among cadres, members and people of all walks of life about the role, significance and humanistic value of tree planting, afforestation, forest protection, and ecological environment protection, creating a widespread movement throughout the Association and the entire population, contributing to environmental protection and improving the quality of life. Actively respond to the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival" in localities, closely coordinate with Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and localities to synchronously implement solutions for planting, caring for, protecting trees, preventing and fighting forest fires...

After the launching ceremony, the Provincial Association of War Veterans and delegates planted 150 Lagerstroemia trees on the Gia Phong - Gia Minh inter-commune road, in Ngoc Dong village, Gia Phong commune.
