Jane is honored to represent Nepal at Miss Universe 2023 taking place in El Salvador on November 18. Jane's special point compared to other contestants of Miss Universe Nepal 2023 is her plus-size body, which is far from the criteria in beauty pageants.
A nursing student from Kathmandu, Jane beat 20 other contestants to win the title. A nurse and business developer by profession, Jane is a strong advocate for body positivity, hormonal health, and mental health for women.

Jane's win is another milestone for the long-running Miss Universe pageant, one of the most-watched beauty pageants in its 72nd year.
During the question and answer session, Jane shared: "As a plus-size woman who doesn't meet certain beauty standards, I'm here to represent plus-size women who are struggling with weight gain, struggling with hormonal issues. I believe that there is not just one standard of beauty, but that every woman is beautiful in her own way."
She mused that "beauty transcends a single stereotype" and that "every woman possesses innate and unique beauty."
Representing her home country Nepal, the 22-year-old beauty is also present at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador, confidently walking alongside other beauty queens from other countries.

Nepal's best achievement in this fierce beauty arena was a top 10 position in 2018.
