Thanks to the livelihood support capital, Ms. Thach Thi Kim Lien (Ward 3, Bac Lieu City) has a stable income.
Providing livelihood capital appropriate to circumstances
Supporting livelihood capital is one of the practical activities launched by the Provincial Women's Union to the grassroots Women's Unions at all levels to support poor women and women's families in difficult circumstances with the motto "no one is left behind". The Unions at all levels select women and women with difficult lives who need help, then the members at the grassroots agree on the method of fundraising, based on the wishes of the members to donate capital and means of livelihood for the women to develop their family economy.
With no stable job and an unstable income, the family life of Ms. Thach Thi Kim Lien (Ward 3, Bac Lieu City) is full of difficulties. Understanding the situation of Ms. Lien's family, in 2023, the Women's Union of Ward 3 supported 2 million VND as living capital. With "capital", Ms. Lien earns more than 100,000 VND per day from selling boiled sweet potatoes, making her family's life less difficult.
Once a poor family with only a few hectares of farmland, Lam Thi Quan and her husband (Vinh Thanh commune, Phuoc Long district) had to work for hire to earn extra income. But since receiving support of 4 million VND from the Phuoc Long district Women's Union, combined with interest-free revolving capital from the women's capital pool of Tuong Thang A hamlet, Ms. Quan invested in a model of growing vegetables, water lilies, raising fish, etc., thereby bringing her a monthly income of over 10 million VND, her family's life has become increasingly stable.
