The shape of the nearly 500 billion bridge connecting Binh Duong with Dong Nai

After two and a half years of construction, the Bach Dang 2 bridge connecting Binh Duong and Dong Nai has gradually taken shape. The contractor is trying to meet the schedule to complete it in the fourth quarter of this year.

The Bach Dang 2 Bridge project across the Dong Nai River started construction at the end of 2021 but has been delayed due to lack of land. The project has a total investment of over 490 billion VND from the budgets of Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces, with the Binh Duong Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor.

When completed, the bridge will connect Tan Uyen City (Binh Duong) and Vinh Cuu District (Dong Nai). Previously, to trade and travel between the two banks of the Dong Nai River, people in these localities could only take ferries. Therefore, Bach Dang 2 Bridge is expected to contribute to the trade of goods and socio-economic development.

According to the design, Bach Dang 2 Bridge has a total length of nearly 950m, a width of 17m, and a scale of 4 lanes. Of which, the bridge is 402m long, the approach road is 545m long.

At this time, in mid-May, workers are constructing the balanced cantilever segments and the M1 pier base. The volume of work outside the river has reached about 70% of the contract.

The bridge has a superstructure of continuous prestressed reinforced concrete box girder, constructed by balanced cantilever method with a span diagram of 60 + 3 x 90 + 60m.

The approach road to the bridge on the Binh Duong side will connect directly to the nearly 3km long route connecting to Bach Dang 1 bridge and DT747 route of Binh Duong province.

The construction unit representative said that the contractor is speeding up the progress to 3 shifts with more than 70 workers and engineers. To date, the investor has completed the construction of the T1, T2, T3, T4 pillars and moved on to the construction of the bridge girder.

The road section at the bridgehead is designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road, with a design speed of 80km/h and a road surface made of hot asphalt concrete.

The main bridge construction is progressing well, the main piers are being completed. According to plan, Bach Dang 2 Bridge will be opened to traffic by the end of this year.

Despite the hot summer weather, workers still work tirelessly, racing against time to complete the project.

According to information from the project management board, the project has now reached 70% of the workload. It is expected to be completed in June 2024. Bach Dang 2 Bridge is a key project connecting the industrial park in Tan Uyen City with Vinh Cuu District, Trang Bom District and Bien Hoa City of Dong Nai Province, contributing to the completion of the inter-provincial traffic system in the Southern key economic region.
