Philippines player flies to score own goal

Laos will face the Philippines at the National Stadium in Vientiane. Buoyed by their draw with Indonesia, coach Ha Hyeok-jun's team continued to deliver impressive performances despite facing a stronger opponent.

The Philippines dominated with nearly 80% ball possession. However, the number of chances created by both teams was the same. The Laos team still had a few dangerous counter-attacks even though star player Bounphachan Bounkong was not playing.

Laos surprisingly opened the scoring in the first half thanks to an own goal from the away team. Defender Michael Baldisimo flew and headed the ball straight into his own goal from a corner kick, without being challenged or pressured by an opposing player.

In the second half, the Lao team lost strength. After the 60th minute, the Philippines put on a lot of pressure. The Lao team changed goalkeepers but the substitute still did a good job with many good saves.

The Philippines' efforts helped them equalize thanks to a tricky turn and finish by Sandro Reyes. The goal made the final minutes of the match more exciting. The Laos team pushed up their formation, determined to find a goal to keep the 3 points at home.

Coach Ha Hyeok-jun's players created a few threatening situations in extra time. However, they could not take the lead for the second time. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
