According to information from the National Assembly Office, the 42nd session of the National Assembly Standing Committee is expected to take place over 2.5 days (February 5-7).

Regarding law-making, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on the following draft laws: Law on Government Organization (amended); Law on Organization of Local Government (amended); Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents (amended); Law on Amending and Supplementing a Number of Articles of the Law on Organization of the National Assembly.
In addition, the National Assembly Standing Committee gave opinions on the draft resolutions: Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term; Resolution of the National Assembly on the structure of the number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term; Resolution of the National Assembly resolving issues arising in legal provisions related to the arrangement of the apparatus.
Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of the National Assembly's specialized agencies; Resolution of the National Assembly on the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended); Resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the specific tasks, powers and organizational structure of the National Assembly's specialized agencies.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and adopt a number of resolutions to implement the Law on Organization of People's Courts in 2024.
The National Assembly Standing Committee will also give opinions on explaining, accepting and revising the draft Law on Teachers and the draft Law on Chemicals (amended); consider the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on explaining a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation in 2022.
Regarding supervision work, the National Assembly Standing Committee will review the National Assembly's report on people's petitions in January 2025.
Regarding decisions on important issues, the National Assembly Standing Committee will consider and approve: Resolution approving the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy on the organization of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on principles, criteria and norms for allocating public investment capital from the State budget for the 2026-2030 period.
Also at the meeting, the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on personnel work within its authority.
