Galaxy AI is a suite of artificial intelligence (AI) features that will be featured on the Galaxy S25 series. Previous rumors have suggested that Samsung could start charging for the service from 2026. However, leakster PandaFlash has revealed on social media X that most of Galaxy AI's features, including Photo Assist, AI Instant Slow-mo, and Writing Tools, will remain free.
It was previously reported that these features would only be free until 2025, but the latest rumors do not specify a specific time, suggesting that these features will likely be free forever. This makes sense considering that the Galaxy AI is primarily a software upgrade with very few hardware changes.
It’s unclear how much Samsung will charge for Galaxy AI or how it will roll out the service plans. The Gemini Advanced subscription, which is free for the first six months for Galaxy S25 users, costs $20 a month.
The question is, after the free six-month period, what will users have to pay for? Samsung hasn’t provided details on that, although it has touted the AI capabilities and improvements that the Galaxy S25 series brings. Previously, a Google Gemini Experiences executive revealed that Gemini Advanced comes with the most advanced AI models and offers priority access to the latest features in the future.
According to the Google Store, Gemini Advanced stands out for its ability to solve complex problems thanks to its advanced reasoning capabilities. However, some complex queries may not work as well as they should in the first 6 months or may even stop working altogether.
