Coming from Ha Long, Sophie Trinh not only possesses a talent for painting but also has the ability to act and model. However, it is her strong passion for painting that has shaped her artistic path. With a romantic and emotional soul, Sophie Trinh has spent many years honing her painting skills and pursuing her passion.

Sharing about the Exhibition, Sophie Trinh said: "In modern life, people seem to be facing loneliness and more complex emotions than ever. At this exhibition, Layers of Emotions , I want to send a message of sharing, when in today's life, everyone has their own feelings in their hearts but sometimes it is difficult to express them, everyone has hidden desires to be understood, loved and cared for. These are strong emotions but are often suppressed, unable to be expressed... And I want to convey those things in my work".

With Emotional Layers, Sophie Trinh not only conveys her deep feelings, her desire for love and her loneliness in her soul, but also sees other beings' shadow and identity in it.

Having studied for a Master's degree at the Vietnam University of Fine Arts, with a diligent and serious artistic spirit, it can be said that Sophie Trinh is one of the few female artists in Vietnam who has painted herself in the nude.

Sophie Trinh said that in order to see herself from different angles, she has the support of a camera, something that traditional artists rarely use. Therefore, her paintings are like a person objectifying her own body through the perspective of another person, but is very subjective in placing emotions.

As for the public, friends, especially the art world, when viewing and knowing Sophie Trinh's works, we can sympathize with her airy brushwork and soft, feminine colors. There, the female artist has focused on expressing what belongs to her inner feelings, the vague, flirtatious moments like in a dream of the unconscious.

As one of the first people to know and follow the creation process of the works of the Emotional Layers Exhibition, artist Le Thiet Cuong shared that Sophie Trinh is a female artist who paints herself in a state of self-passion like loving a dream lover, and perhaps because of that self-passion, Sophie Trinh has made the audience feel like they can "touch" the author's emotions.

He said: “Sophie Trinh's paintings combine the light of reality and the conventional space of abstraction, mixed with the free lines of expressionism, leaving behind patches of color, freely falling drops of color and loose brush strokes.

Sophie is not an artist who wants to move towards something new and innovative, but she wants to use the language of painting and the blending of schools to tell her personal narrative. That is why the paintings are gentle, friendly and close, and at the same time, in this way, the female artist can have a lot of potential to exploit and create many different themes and stories.

With 23 works of Emotional Layers , viewers are leisurely and slowly but are fascinated by the harmonious, blended and feminine colors that still bring a sense of luxury and elegance. The gentle but free and liberal writing style can describe the space of emotions, which after viewing the 23 works, lingers in the hearts of the public.

The exhibition "Layers of Emotion" will open on August 25 and last until September 2 on the 3rd floor - Exhibition House of Vietnam Fine Arts Association, 16 Ngo Quyen, Hanoi.
