Huawei - one of the leading technology enterprises, has made important contributions to the deep and broad development of China's digital economy.
Breakthroughs in digital transformation
China's digital economy has recorded impressive progress with an estimated size of nearly 54 trillion yuan (about 7.4 trillion USD), with annual growth of up to 10.3%.
This reflects the efforts of the government, businesses and people for a strong transformation, applying technology to industries. In particular, Huawei has made important contributions, promoting the comprehensive digital transformation process in the country.
The application of digital transformation to key industries has become a decisive factor for comprehensive development, promoting the enhancement of the industry's potential in particular and the digital economy in general.
The oil and gas industry is one of the key areas where the company has applied advanced technology to address the challenges in exploitation.
Accordingly, the smart exploration solution of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) implemented in cooperation with the company has helped increase production and reserves, while reducing operating costs.
Specifically, CNPC and Huawei developed the Kunlun earthquake platform model with AI technology, building more than 235,000 visual datasets in just two months, enabling accurate processing of geological and seismic data and significantly improving the success rate of oil and gas exploration.
In addition, the company has also deployed an intelligent oil and gas pipeline network monitoring solution for the China Oil and Gas Pipeline Network Corporation (PipeChina).
The fiber optic warning system based on distributed fiber optic sensing technology has effectively monitored areas with long pipelines, reduced oil theft, and improved safety during transportation.
The surveillance solution has a 100% recognition rate and provides 24-hour security maintenance services. Thanks to this solution, more than 100 incidents of unauthorized interference have been prevented in time.
In the mining industry, the adoption of autonomous driving technology has brought significant advances in improving safety and efficiency at work.

At Asia's largest lead and zinc mine in Yunnan, where trucks carrying newly mined ore travel through rough terrain and harsh weather, the company and Chihong T&E have combined the use of a cloud platform to deploy and manage autonomous trucks to transport ore.
The vehicles are operated efficiently, easily handle difficult roads, minimize risks and ensure safety for workers during operation.
“Our success demonstrates that autonomous driving technology can be used in larger-scale mineral mines, bringing more value to the industry,” said Zheng Yanchao, project leader from Chihong T&E.
Digital transformation is a long-term process, we hope to accelerate the deployment of these safe and efficient production technologies to benefit the mining industry."
Both the oil and gas and mining industries are showing strong transformation thanks to digital technology, opening up new directions for sustainable and effective development in the future.
Digital transformation is not only a trend, but also an urgent requirement to improve competitiveness and meet the increasing demands of the global market.
Developing production in niche markets
Digital transformation with the support of Huawei is the turning point that creates success for Midea Group - Photo: HW
In addition to key industries, digital transformation is also applied in China's niche markets, improving efficiency and bringing new values to industries.
As one of the pioneers in applying digital transformation to the production line, from a small factory producing plastic bottle caps, Midea Group has quickly risen to become one of the largest home appliance manufacturers in the world.
One of the keys to the group's success is pioneering the application of technology to optimize the production process.
Specifically, in 2021, Midea marked a new milestone when it cooperated with Huawei and China Unicom to build a smart 5G connected factory by using a Private 5G network for a factory in Hubei Province, China, providing comprehensive connectivity for production and processing, quality inspection, equipment operation and maintenance, ensuring health and safety in the working environment.
Thanks to this change, the factory's production line now takes just 15 seconds to produce a washing machine. The factory also increased customer delivery speeds, cut inventory in half, and reduced labor costs per department by 30%.
The project also received the 5G Industry Challenge Award, recognizing the company's success in widely applying 5G technology in smart manufacturing in general and its 5G development efforts in particular at MWC 2023.

Besides Midea, Guizhou Maotai - China's most famous traditional liquor producer, has also applied digital transformation to improve product quality and optimize production processes.
In 2020, the wine brand partnered with Huawei to deploy an IoT infrastructure to monitor changes in warehouse storage conditions, quickly identify issues that could affect the quality of the wine, and thereby improve the production process.
This not only improves product quality but also helps Maotai maintain its reputation in the traditional liquor industry.
The combination of technology and traditional manufacturing is opening up new opportunities for businesses to meet growing market demands, reduce costs and increase productivity.
Therefore, digital transformation is not only a strategy but also an essential requirement to survive and develop in an increasingly competitive environment.
Not only contributing to China's digital technology development, Huawei also actively accompanies international enterprises in applying technology to economic sectors.
In Thailand, the company has deployed a 5G smart hospital model, helping to improve the quality of medical services and improve the patient experience. Or in Laos, Huawei contributed to the construction of the Laos-China Expressway, creating convenient traffic connections and promoting regional economic development.
Mr. Li Peng - Senior Vice President and President of Huawei ICT Business & Services Group shared: "We are entering an intelligent world. We - Huawei will continue to make unremitting efforts to bring more intelligent digital infrastructure products and solutions, helping to accelerate the digital transformation of industries. Besides, we will strive to accompany our partners, develop together, towards the intelligent world".
