On the afternoon of April 10, the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) announced the decision to fire the coach of the U17 team - Mr. Jadet Meelarp. This move was made less than 1 day after the "war elephants" lost to U17 China.
The Southeast Asian representative left the 2025 AFC U17 Championship after three consecutive losses, finishing bottom of Group A.
Despite being in a strong group with opponents such as Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia and China, Thai fans still have high expectations for the performance of the young players.
However, coach Jadet Meelarp's team performed disappointingly, losing all three matches. They conceded nine goals and scored only two.

The "War Elephants" lost 1-4 to U17 Uzbekistan in the opening match, then lost 1-3 to U17 Saudi Arabia, and finally 0-2 to U17 China.
Compared to other regional rivals, U17 Indonesia defeated South Korea to advance to the quarter-finals and win a ticket to the World Cup. U17 Vietnam also impressed by drawing with two strong opponents, Australia and Japan.
Therefore, the achievements of Mr. Jadet Meelarp and his team are unacceptable to the Football Federation of Thailand.
Currently, FAT has not revealed the name that will replace strategist Meelarp.
