(Dan Tri) - More than 190,000 people receiving pensions and benefits at a low level of less than 3.5 million VND have had their benefits increased at two levels.

According to the report on the implementation of salary policy reform, pension adjustment, social insurance benefits, preferential allowances for people with meritorious services and social allowances, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the Government has issued Decree No. 75/2024/ND-CP dated June 30, 2024 adjusting pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances.
Accordingly, a 15% increase has been made to the pension, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances of June 2024.
For pensioners, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances before January 1, 1995, after making adjustments according to the above general adjustment level, if the benefit level is less than 3.2 million VND/month, it will be adjusted to increase by 300,000 VND/month. If the benefit level is from 3.2 million VND/month to less than 3.5 million VND/month, it will be adjusted to 3.5 million VND/month.

In order to be able to implement it immediately after the Decree takes effect (from July 1, 2024), the Ministry has coordinated with Vietnam Social Security in implementing the Decree.
Therefore, in the pension payment period of July 2024, people receiving pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly benefits have been adjusted and received at the new level.
According to estimates, more than 3.09 million people are receiving pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly benefits with adjusted benefits.
Of which, the number of people receiving benefits from the guaranteed State budget is more than 833,000 people, the number of people receiving benefits from the guaranteed Social Insurance Fund is more than 2.26 million people.
The number of people receiving pensions, social insurance benefits and monthly allowances at a low level of less than 3.5 million VND adjusted is more than 190,000 people.
The estimated implementation cost is about 16,780 billion VND, of which the State budget is 3,650 billion VND and the Social Insurance Fund is 13,130 billion VND.
Preferential allowance for meritorious people increased by 35.7%
Regarding the adjustment of preferential allowances for people with meritorious services, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said that the Government issued Decree No. 77/2024/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 75/2021/ND-CP stipulating the levels of allowances, subsidies and preferential regimes for people with meritorious services to the revolution.
Accordingly, from July 1, 2024, the standard level of preferential allowance for people with revolutionary contributions will be adjusted from VND 2,055 million to VND 2,789 million (an increase of 35.7%).

Regarding social assistance, the Ministry has submitted to the Government Decree No. 76/2024/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 20/2021/ND-CP regulating social assistance policies for social protection beneficiaries. In particular, the regulation adjusts the social assistance standard from VND 360,000/month to VND 500,000/month (an increase of 38.9%) from July 1, 2024.
To promptly implement social assistance policies and regimes for social protection beneficiaries, the Ministry has requested provinces and cities to promptly make payments, ensuring publicity, transparency, and correct beneficiaries.
Currently, 63/63 provinces and cities have implemented the social assistance standards prescribed in Decree No. 76 from July 1, 2024 for about 3.4 million people.
Of these, nearly 1.4 million people receive subsidies for the elderly, more than 1.7 million people receive subsidies for the disabled; 15,000 children receive subsidies for orphans and children without a source of support; 126,000 children receive subsidies for children under 3 years old; 80,000 people receive subsidies for poor single people raising children...
Monthly care funding support for 412,000 households and individuals who receive care and support for social protection beneficiaries. The total budget for social assistance payments is about 30,000 billion VND.
The full implementation of social assistance policies and regimes has contributed to stabilizing the lives and ensuring social security for social protection beneficiaries. At the same time, it has contributed to stabilizing the security, order, social safety and political situation of the country.
