On the morning of April 18 (March 10th of the lunar calendar), at the Hung Kings Memorial Temple in Tao Dan Park, District 1, many people in Ho Chi Minh City came to offer incense and flowers to commemorate the Hung Kings on the occasion of the Hung Kings' death anniversary.
On the morning of April 18 (March 10th of the Lunar calendar), many people in Ho Chi Minh City went to the Hung Kings Memorial Temple to offer incense and pay respect to their ancestors.
The Hung Kings Memorial Temple was built in 1992 and restored in 2011, in Tao Dan Park, which is more than a century old in Saigon.
The temple is built in traditional architecture combined with some modern elements, located in a fresh space shaded by green park trees.
Many agencies, organizations and people brought cakes and fruits to the temple to burn incense and offer flowers to commemorate the contributions of King Hung and his ancestors to build and protect the country.
The sacred and majestic bronze statue of the Hung Kings is placed in the central room, on the left is the altar of Mother Au Co, on the right is the altar of President Ho Chi Minh.
Students come to burn incense at the Hung Kings Memorial Temple. "Taking advantage of the midweek holiday, we came to burn incense on the Hung Kings' death anniversary. In addition to showing respect and gratitude to the ancestors, I also pray that I will pass the important upcoming graduation exam," Minh (a student in District 3) expressed.
Most young people go to the temple to burn incense to commemorate their ancestors.
Ms. Bui Hong Hanh (68 years old, District 3) shared: "Every year, when the Hung King's death anniversary comes, I visit the Hung King Temple here. I find this an extremely meaningful occasion for the nation. Trees have roots, water has a source, birds find nests, people find ancestors. As Vietnamese people, we must be grateful to our roots..."
" No matter where you go/ Remember the death anniversary of the ancestors on the tenth day of the third lunar month... ". The death anniversary of the Hung Kings is a meaningful annual activity to show the gratitude of the descendants to the merits of their ancestors, the Hung Kings and predecessors in the cause of building and defending the country.
