China Southern Airlines has just announced to agents, travel companies and passengers about increasing the frequency of flights from Guangzhou to Khanh Hoa to meet the winter vacation needs of tourists.
China Southern plane landed at Cam Ranh airport at the end of September.
Specifically, from October 29, China Southern will increase the frequency of flights from Guangzhou to Khanh Hoa from 3 round trips/week to daily flights (1 round trip/day). The flight will depart from Baiyun Airport (Guangzhou) at 14:20 (local time) and arrive at Cam Ranh International Airport at 15:50. The Khanh Hoa - Guangzhou flight departs from Cam Ranh Airport at 16:40 and arrives at Baiyun International Airport at 20:10 (local time).
Previously, China Southern was the first airline to reopen commercial flights from China to Khanh Hoa since the Covid-19 epidemic was brought under control. Specifically, the first flight on September 29 carried 130 passengers from Guangzhou to Khanh Hoa.
In this initial phase, the Guangzhou - Cam Ranh route will have 3 flights/week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. "The Guangzhou - Cam Ranh commercial route will help create conditions for travel agencies to exploit tours bringing Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa as well as bringing people from Khanh Hoa and neighboring provinces to travel to China," emphasized a representative of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
China Southern is China's largest airline by fleet size and market share. It currently operates a fleet of 652 aircraft, including Boeing and Airbus aircraft along with some Chinese-made aircraft.
Chinese tourists arrive at Cam Ranh airport as the country of a billion people just reopens after the pandemic
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, Chinese tourists accounted for the majority of international visitors to Khanh Hoa. In 2019, the locality welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors from this country. After the pandemic, many Vietnamese airlines such as Vietjet Air and Bamboo Airways operated charter flights to bring Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa, but recently the number of flights has decreased.
According to Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, it is expected that in the coming time, charter flights bringing Chinese tourists to Khanh Hoa will gradually increase from November and Chinese commercial airlines are planning to resume operations in the fourth quarter.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2023, there were more than 1.1 million Chinese visitors to Vietnam, ranking second after Korean visitors.
Reopening self-driving tourism from Quang Ninh - China
It is expected that by the end of October, the self-driving car tourism service between Mong Cai City (Quang Ninh) - Dong Hung City (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China) will be reopened.
Tours for Chinese people driving their own cars to Quang Ninh have been available since 2016. Accordingly, 5-7 seater cars from Vietnam are allowed to enter Guilin City (Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region) with a distance of 600 km. Similar cars from China are allowed to enter Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province with a distance of 180 km. Chinese tourists traveling by self-driving tourist cars to Quang Ninh must have a visa. From here, tourists can leave their cars in Ha Long City and continue to other localities.
