Ho Chi Minh City University of Law has just announced the list of students in regular classes expected to be given academic warning and forced to drop out of school due to poor academic results in the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year.

Accordingly, 41 students are expected to be forced to leave school because they have been given two consecutive academic warnings. 75 students are expected to be given academic warnings because of poor academic performance in the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year.

The 41 students expected to be expelled all had an average score of semester 1 and semester 2 of the 2023-2024 school year below 1 (on a 4-point scale). Many students received a score of 0 points. Of the 75 students who were placed on academic warning, most had an average score of semester 2 of the 2023-2024 school year below 1. One student was placed on academic warning because the total number of failed credits in the semester exceeded 50% of the registered credits in the semester.

According to the regulations of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, students are given academic warning in the following cases: The total number of failed credits in a semester exceeds 50% of the registered credits in the semester or the total number of outstanding credits from the beginning of the course exceeds 24. The average semester score is below 0.8 for the first semester of the course; below 1 for the following semesters.

Cumulative GPA below 1.2 for first-year students, below 1.4 for second-year students, below 1.6 for third-year students or below 1.8 for students in subsequent years.

Students are forced to drop out of school in the following cases: Having 2 consecutive academic warnings; Having study time exceeding the prescribed limit.
