Today (February 22), Road Management Area IV (Vietnam Road Administration) said that the unit is implementing the inspection of the old Dong Nai bridge in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Nai.

To serve the inspection process, the authorities announced that they will restrict traffic across the bridge from 0-5am tomorrow (February 23).

Traffic diversion plan is as follows:

For motorbikes: Every 30 minutes, motorbikes are allowed to circulate for about 5-10 minutes, after which the unit will continue to ban them for inspection.

For cars: Instruct vehicles to move along the route DT16 → Buu Hoa bridge → Dang Van Tron street → An Hao bridge → Le Van Duyet street → National Highway 1. In case of prolonged traffic congestion on National Highway 1, the authorities will regulate traffic similar to motorbikes to ensure traffic flow.

Road Management Area IV recommends that during this time, vehicles traveling on National Highway 1 in the direction of Dong Nai should limit traffic across the bridge. At the same time, drivers need to comply with the orders of the authorities to ensure traffic safety during the bridge inspection and load testing process.

The old Dong Nai Bridge is a vital route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, built a long time ago and now degraded. This inspection aims to assess the safety level, and propose maintenance and repair plans to ensure safe traffic in the future.
