Mr. Nguyen Tan Ban, Chairman of Chau Duc District People's Committee (Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) said that the District People's Committee has just organized a dialogue with teachers and staff of Anh Duong Kindergarten to listen to their thoughts and wishes related to the scandal of the teacher's lunch tray having only 2 pieces of ham.
To allow teachers to freely exchange information, this dialogue session did not have the participation of the School Board of Directors, the President and Vice President of the Trade Union, leaders of the People's Inspection Committee, and heads of subject groups.

According to the teachers, this situation has lasted for many years, the food is getting more and more sketchy. It is worth mentioning that not only the teachers' meals but also the students' meals are equally sketchy, the menu has many dishes that are not guaranteed. " The school board also never publicly discloses the food costs, only when the press gets involved is the food cost announced like last week" , said a teacher.
Some other opinions also said that salaries, income increases, and some other amounts of money were not made public by the Board of Directors. Teachers and staff of Anh Duong Kindergarten had to do many different jobs, with no time to rest. Teachers and staff were even forced by the principal to pull weeds, sweep, and work as construction workers.
"For fear of being oppressed and losing their jobs, workers here never dare to speak up. Only when there is this dialogue, without the presence of the Board of Directors, do we dare to stand up and speak up," a teacher burst into tears.
Listening to the teachers' concerns, the Chairman of the Chau Duc District People's Committee apologized to the teachers and staff of the school. "We have noted the opinions of the teachers and staff of the school. The teachers' desire for transparency in revenue and expenditure, and for their meals and the children's meals to be improved are all legitimate issues," said Mr. Ban.
Chau Duc District People's Committee has requested the Department of Internal Affairs to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the school since the new principal took office. In addition, the locality will hold a meeting to decide on the next form of handling and provide information as soon as possible.

Previously, social media account TXT posted a reflection about the 30,000 VND lunch tray of teachers at Anh Duong Kindergarten. According to the shared image, the lunch tray only had rice and 2 pieces of pork roll, with a little fish sauce; some other trays had rice and a few pieces of stir-fried meat with bamboo shoots.
The images quickly spread on social networks, many people expressed their outrage and hoped that authorities would investigate.
The kindergarten was also accused by Ms. Tran Thi Thien Kim (the school's cook) of cutting down on children's food portions. Ms. Kim was later fired. Ms. Kim sued the principal at Chau Duc District People's Court for illegally dismissing workers.
Regarding the case, at the first instance trial, Chau Duc District People's Court ordered Anh Duong Kindergarten to accept Ms. Kim back to work and compensate more than 88 million VND. At the same time, it restored the social insurance regime according to the law for employees.
