Sharing with TG&VN newspaper, Le Hai Ly - Captain of Hanoi Sennen Yosakoi Club - a dance team established in 2008, said that they brought to this year's Festival a unique performance with cultural exchange between the two countries based on the music of "Xam Ha Noi".

With stylized costumes of Vietnamese ao dai and conical hats, the dance team hopes to promote the cultures of both countries.

Talking about Yosakoi, Hai Ly also said that she loves the traditional Japanese dance because it has a high team spirit, expressing the strong vitality and energy of youth.

Yosakoi dance originated in Japan, born right after World War II ended, at this time the whole country of Japan fell into a state of crisis, life was extremely miserable.

The Japanese people created a joyful dance, attracting a large number of participants with an optimistic spirit and strong vitality, with smiles always on their faces, transmitting positive energy to the audience.

Because of that, Yosakoi gradually spread widely throughout Japan, was accepted by everyone and became one of the unique cultural features of Japan. And then, Yosakoi spread to many countries around the world.

In Vietnam, Yosakoi is widely known and attracts many participants, especially young people. Up to now, many Yosakoi clubs in Vietnam have been established and are growing stronger in both quantity and quality.

Nowadays, many Vietnamese Yosakoi dances not only carry the spirit of the land of the rising sun, but many programs have been created by clubs that bear the mark, cultural identity, and spirit of Vietnam.

Some Vietnamese Yosakoi clubs were invited by the host country to attend the Yosakoi Festival in Japan, such as the Nui Truc Sakura Yosakoi Club and the Hanoi Sennen Yosakoi Club, which were honored to receive the title of "Yosakoi Ambassador to Vietnam" awarded by the Governor of Kochi Prefecture, Japan in 2017.

In 2023, Vietnam's Sakura Yosakoi Mountain Club participated and won the Cup of the Yosakoi Festival in Kochi Prefecture, Japan.
